After that caveat: Suicide is a violation of the commandment to do no murder. So it is a sin.
The question which we dare not answer (lest we be guilty of the primordial sin of wanting to be like God) is whether it is an unforgiveable sin.
Is God's forgiveness dependant upon our ability to ask for forgiveness...our ability to repent? Some would say that a sudden gunshot to the head allows for no possibility of repentance and therefore is unforgiveable.
Others point to the promise of the Psalms that "the LORD is near to the brokenhearted and those who are crushed in spirit He saves."
Ultimately, it is neither for us to know or to judge. Back to Isaiah 55.
It’s all a chemical imbalance in the brain. Drugs don’t cure but help and I think it will be a long time before they crack the brains working.

A friend of mine growing up lost his dad to suicide after he had left for college. His dad had several heart attacks and at least one stroke. He stayed somewhat depressed. This was in the mid to late 1970's. One time he wrecked his pick up. We went and looked and said No Way so we figured he had tried it then. He went through with it one night.
After I got out of the Navy and my friend who had joined by the time I got out came in on leave we talked. He was concerned about his dads salvation. We talked a few minutes and he told me that his dad had received Christ a few months earlier. His son in law was a preacher and had talked to him. The preacher also at one point before his salvation was considering taking his life I'm told.
I asked my friend a few simple questions we both knew the answer too. Was his dad depressed? Was he having cognitive issues? That and a few more pointed to serious mental issues. Is the man with The Lord? No one knows that of another's salvation although we have assurances from scripture to say with reasonable likelihood yes. Someone had told my friend suicide was unforgiveable. The Bible is clear in that only the rejection of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is an unforgivable sin if we die in that rejection.
I think we should make all effort we can to stay here till GOD's appointed time for our life to end. Despite some not so good experiences with psychiatrist {I fired a few trying to treat me and two nearly killed my wife} I still thing getting help is wise. If a person doesn't feel comfortable with a Shrink or Therapist seek another one. Also very important both patient and family should educate themselves about the medications used and possible adverse reactions. For example Paxil. Watch your bladder function men. If the flow no go then get to an emergency room ASAP. If not you will likely go into shock. The medication is causing that not the disorder.
One thing I remember early on in my treatment. Doctors were insisting I take antidepressants. I was also on Xanax thank GOD. One evening I caught myself with my finger pointed at my head like a gun. I can't take any type of antidepressants whatsoever because the neurological issues that trigger me are made worse by them. I do not need my sensory system enhanced IOW.
Many also forget this. Many mental health issues such as Panic Attacks are a secondary condition caused by a primary one that is usually not being treated or has been diagnosed. Same for depression as well.

A human being stepped into eternity tonight and left a grieving family behind. The guy wasn’t Adolf Hitler, so why can’t we be a little compassionate and say a prayer that he was saved.
I liked him a lot. And I don’t think he was always lock-step with the Lefties.
Somewhat goofy analysis in that “Famous Bipolar People” trying to reason logically why he was bipolar (if in fact he was). I think bipolar people have been emotionally and mentally shattered typically at an early age and it would seem later for all intents and purposes not to make sense. It actually does make sense, but you have to go much deeper and further back usually in one’s life than superficial political or circumstantial disappointments later in life. Typically overreaction to those things are only symptoms of a deeper problem that goes way back in their childhood.
I loved him in Good Will Hunting. Much more to this guy than just comedy. I wonder now if he was dealing with what turned out to be his own issues in that movie.
Actually I agree with that statement. Conservatism IS compassion..The Bush approach of trying to add liberalism to it doesn't work.
But it's curable. But IMO, you need the love of Jesus to do it.

That's right. It's the new covenant in his blood where he tells us he will remember our sins (past, present ans future) and iniquities no more (Heb 8:12; 10:17).
I saw the response to you quoting Hebrews 6:4-6, but that is Paul taking to the Hebrews, the Jews, to whom he is writing this letter. The Jews were the ones who were first enlightened and tasted of heavenly gifts, the Holy Ghost, the word of God, and His power. And many Jews did fall away and have remained away from Jesus for the last 2000 years, as this prophetic part of Hebrews tells us.
That does not apply to believers in the risen Lord Jesus Christ whose perfect sacrifice and blood makes us partakers in the new covenant which declares forgiveness forever to those who have received Jesus Christ.
He is wrong as long as he came to Christ before death. I hope he did.
To those who come to Jesus Christ, God declares, “I will remember their sins and iniquities NO MORE (past present and future”) (Heb 8:12; 10:17). The is the everlasting and perfect new covenant in his blood.

I don’t think I had until last month when I was researching Cymbalta after one of my doctors prescribed it for my nerve pain.
After a few days of indecision I finally started taking it and thankfully I have not had too many bad side effects.. yet. The most annoying one that happens and I looked up to see if it was a known issue is excessive yawning.
I have to look up all medicine I get prescribed after the horror of Topamax that I took mid-July to mid-August 2011, and weigh the risks. To this day I have side effects that I can directly link back to Topamax.
I would rather get prescribed a strong pain killer because I know the side effects and I know I’m not the type to get addicted. But thanks to the pill heads a person with legit pain gets screwed.
My PCP keeps suggesting off label use of drugs for my nerve pain and I have nixed most of them. The Cymbalta was the neurologist’s idea so I am giving it a few months but keep alert for new problems. Just hoping it doesn’t screw up my A1c results like the other meds did.
I have to wonder what the final straw was - it is a loss but he will be immortalized. He had the talent in spades, and a rubber face made for comedy.
