Have you watched any of “star trek continues” or “star trek: phase 2” fan series? the production values are really quite good. Is this any relation to either of those projects?

Yes, I’ve watched those and really like them. This is a different project. I think you’ll find the production values on this project are even better than on those.

This is what “new” Trek should look like, not the Abrams abortion.

That’s Gary Graham as the Vulcan Ambassador, reprising his role from “Enterprise.”

BTW, the female Captain is played by Kate Vernon, as in John Vernon’s daughter (AKA Dean Vernon Wormer of “Animal House”).

I didn’t even recognize Richard Hatch (Captain Apollo from the original Battlestar Galactica) playing the Klingon Commander.

Thank goodness for today's powerful computers and video-editing software; these "amateur" productions are just about the only good sci-fi around.

This was cleverly done, like a 23rd century version of a History Channel war documentary.

Yup, and get in some credible, seasoned actors with recognizable faces who look like grown-up Captains (not the kiddie brigades in Abrams’ Faux Trek) and you’ve got a much higher-quality production.

Sounds interesting.

Have you seen any of the “fan made” Star Trek stuff before?

I’ve intended to, but never quite got around to it. Most of it, from what I’ve ascertained, seems to show a lot more respect and love for the canon and the franchise itself than the duly “authorized” films have.
