That is Democrat thinking, at its worse.
Here is the irony for ya.
Back when the states were suing the tobacco companies, Colorado was in line for their cut of the settlement.
Their justification was that health care costs were higher because of tobacco and they needed to be reimbursed.
I wonder what their explanation will be when it is clear that pot, like tobacco, causes serious health issues. AND they made money, in the form of taxes, off of the sales of pot.
Colorado citizens petitioned legalization onto the ballot. The People legalized it, not the legislature.
I care more for having empty beds in prisons, not having doors kicked down over a trivial vice, not having property seized, and not having family pets shot.
I really don’t care how bad pot is for those who smoke it, any more than I care how bad alcohol is for those drink (not to mention sugar and high fructose corn syrup), or how bad tobacco is for those who smoke it.
They’ve all been warned. Its their problem.
“States like Colorado care more for the tax revenue generated from this than they do the health and well being of the people. That is Democrat thinking, at its worse.”
Or maybe some care more for liberty.
I don’t recall the Constitution empowering the government to take such steps as it deems proper to protect the health and well being of the people.
Yes but the irony is that the black market is even stronger now that it’s legal. Colorado has yet to realize the tax revenue they hoped for. Why? How does one know who’s smoking legal dope in public! It’s hilarious. The new retirement endeavor here in Wyoming is to grow pot and bootleg it to CO at half the cost! j/k But you can easily see how it’s a boondoggle for the cartels. Liberals are so stupid it hurts everyone in their path.
