Woke my daughter up in Dublin CA...
Good Hunting... from Varmint Al
Live very nearby. Almost all pictures fell off wall above fireplace. Crooked pictures everywhere. Spice rack fell off shelf in kitchen and broke.
Stuff fell off shelves around the house and in the garage.
Shot!
Scared me right awake. The poor cat ran away terrified, ripping my arm open in a panic to get under a bed.
It woke me up here in the Pleasanton / San Ramon area of the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area. It woke up my daughter too, but not my wife, it seems. It didn’t feel like a 6.0 here, though. However, it was rolling and rocking back and forth for what felt like a long time, though. At least 15 seconds, maybe longer.
I’m in Fairfield and I SURE woke up. Worst one I felt since Loma Prieta. Where are you located?
The 6.0 earthquake is pretty strong, especially since it happened only 10 km (6.2 miles) below the surface at the epicenter. According to the USGS web site, it occurred just under two miles west of Napa County Airport.

- It must be jelly because jam does not shake like that!
Shook pretty good here in El Sobrante. All the old ceiling cracks are back, time to get out the mud....
Quite a few power outages in the area. Didn’t feel it here in the land of FR (190 miles South). http://www.pge.com/myhome/outages/outage/
SJ Mercury News - PG&E reported severe outages in areas near Napa and Santa Rosa. Reports of downed power lines surfaced throughout the Bay Area. The California Highway Patrol and Caltrans are examining the major bridges but no closures have been ordered.
Many residents in the area near the epicenter reported some damage to their homes and sirens heard in the streets, but no major injuries or damage were immediately reported there or in outlying areas like San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose.

Vallejo FRiends, I heard the I-37 Bridge buckled from the quake and is closed. Anything to that?
I didn’t feel anything here in Antelope, have the valley in between to attenuate the seismic waves.
The largest earthquake to hit the Bay Area since 1989 shook Northern California just after 3 a.m. Sunday morning.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported the quake, with a preliminary magnitude of 6.0, was centered about four miles northwest of American Canyon and hit at 3:20 a.m. The temblor, which took place at a depth of about 6.7 miles, was felt at least as far away as Santa Cruz County, according to users of Twitter.
More than 60,000 people were without power in Napa and Sonoma counties, including 27,600 in the city of Napa and 15,400 in the city of Sonoma, according to PG&E.

Update, 6:10 a.m.: By way of an interview on KCBS: David Oppenheimer of U.S. Geological Survey is saying that this mornings earthquake occurred on the West Napa Fault, and the agency has named the event the South Napa Earthquake.
How dare your earfquake take the focus off Big Mike’s funeral.
That is so racist.
Sonoma Indy car race is still on.....
