That’s exactly why they’re trying to ride Ferguson for all it’s worth, motivating black voters. They’ll try war on women again at some point too.

…and in Iowa, don’t forget the corporate welfare of the Ethanol scam too…..Iowa IS a very entitlement driven state at every level. I mean, any state that elected Tom Harkin multiple times is crazy.

Not to worry, Iowa will be just another Mississippi and another Virginia - close but the Dem’s will squeak it out - just the way the rino Repubs wanted it played.

Yes. I have been living here for five years. It’s an interesting place.

Braley’s ads seem more like smears. Ernst points out facts about Braley missing 79% of VA Committee hearings. She will likely win the moderate vote. Braley is hoping for a massive turnout in loony left Iowa City and the union/welfare areas, like Davenport.

So, what’s your gut telling you? Will Ernst or Braley be the new Jr. Senator from IA?

I assume you mean the Va Governor's race? And the Mississippi Primary? Neither of those analogize to this…..

Yes, Iowa boy here.
I think Ernst has a very good chance. She is running a good campaign. Being a woman will put her over the top IMHO.

LOL.... Point well taken. Granted Harkin is a freakin’ Liberal but he’s not a idiot like Braley. Braley dude, and his bitch of a wife, need some intense therapy.

........2014 mid terms seem to be elections where Big issues of gay marriage and abortion are not the drivers......

So very true---sometimes post-election analyses finds issues the pundits never pin-pointed.

In the recent Cantor route, little-known issues WRT Cantor making enemies of top Repubs drove the election in some areas.

Everybody thought Cantor was "untouchable". Nobody thought his TV ads would hurt him....but the $5 million ads kept repeating the positions of his opponent---which Cantor figured would hurt the opponent.

Turns out, voters liked whet they heard and dumped Cantor.

The private circumlocution of voters in the voting booth is hard to predict.

The fact that any incumbent Democrat is not running behind any opponent tells us more than we need to know about what troubles this nation.

indeed it is - which worries me to a degree. I wonder how many public "conservatives" are now on the public dole and will secretly vote liberal big gummint while professing to be to the right????? I wonder how many like Glenn Beck, and hardcore preppers, vote Obama to bring about the apocalypse - because if it happens, prepper elites will rule the world! (I am a prepper, but a jr. prepper) Just some thoughts - inspired by your excellent post.

I'll know then that it's a State that only cares about their entitlements, propagating same-sex marriages and killing little unborn babies.

Yeah, whatever. Because it's so plain for everyone to see that Joni Ernst is not only above reproach but also a great American conservative patriot. And, everyone knows the GOP is always, ALWAYS so very good at waging an effective campaign. Or, not.

(from the article) it's moving back towards Bruce Braley

It should be. The Dem PAC money is pouring in like never before.

I pray that I'm wrong but, I expect she's toast.

Well, safe to say that if he wins it won’t be based on likeability...

I agree. Ernst is a great candidate and also has a sense of humor. I hope she wins.
