Judicial Watch: DOJ Admits Lois Lerner’s Emails Exist

By Joel Gehrke

August 25, 2014 3:11 PM

A Justice Department official admitted that former IRS official Lois Lerner’s apparently missing emails actually exist on a backup server, but the government doesn’t plan to retrieve them.

“A Department of Justice attorney told a Judicial Watch attorney on Friday that it turns out the federal government backs up all computer records in case something terrible happens in Washington and there’s a catastrophe, so the government can continue operating,” Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton told Fox News’ Shannon Bream.

“But it would be too hard to go get lois lerner’s emails from that backup system,” Fitton continued, paraphrasing the DOJ official. “So, everything we’ve been hearing about scratched hard drives, about missing emails of Lois Lerner, other IRS officials, other officials in the Obama administration, it’s all been a pack of malarkey. They could get these records, but they don’t want to.”

Fitton said his group plans to ask a federal judge to order the IRS to hand over the emails, which conservative opponents of Lerner want to see in order to determine if there is a link between President Obama’s team and the IRS’s targeting of Tea Party groups.

“If this backup system is working, Lois Lerner’s emails are there,” Fitton said.

because the majority of our armed military personnel would mutiny against such treason.

Something Obama is trying hard to change

"But it would be too hard to go get lois lerner’s emails from that backup system"

Interesting, so how hard would it be the re-start the government through the backup system?

Also, how much did the backup system cost, especially one that apparently is too hard to use?

I work in an IT department as well and have seen similar tactics.

Yes. Why can't people just be allowed to do their job? I've been caught in the middle many times between managers and directors. Pulled into small storage closets with a manager who threatened me with firing if I told the director of the department what was going on with his fraud. Directors grilling me about a router being down and a hundred programmers idle, me taking the heat while my boss keeps it down and threatens me. I got rid of one director of a department and a high-up manager, after sneaking into his office and finding invoices showing he was stealing equipment. Went over his head by forwarding the evidence, and they immediately resigned. Hated corrupt people, one reason I retired early from IT.

The emails exist in spite of deliberate efforts by the IRS to destroy them (post congressional investigation). They destroyed lerners blackberry in their efforts.

This behavior should force the judge to use independent computer forensic experts to retrieve the data. (Cannot trust the irs.)

Yes, I have, and Devil’s Island was suggested by another FReeper upthread.

It is a good idea, but we’d have to create our own Devil’s Island — the original is closed and off-limits to visitors, I believe.

They’ll say the backup system is NOT working!

But you can bet your a$$ that the government contractor billed for the data backup services

You know, back during the Clinton years, Judicial Watch and Free Republic had some awesome pissing contests. Is Klayman still running that shop?

If so, consider me gobsmacked.

I don’t know about anyone else, but if he manages to pry out these Lerner emails, I am going to fly to Washington DC, ask him to step down to the Mall, give him two hours to gather a crowd, and kiss his a$$.

Credit where credit is due, Judicial Watch has been amazingly effective in prying stuff loose from the Obamanites. Far more so than congress.

All I want to know is when that Bug Eyed Salamander of a lying under oath IRS Director is going to be indicted? I want Trey Gowdy to personally deliver the indictment.

That works.

1. Search the e-mails after innauguration day 2017 with a GOP president in the Whitehouse.
2. Send out indictments within the next week.
3. Send them to the Federal Lock-up with in the year.

Zero chance of a pardon from Zero.

The people that you mention, sub-human filth that they are, VOTED FOR THE KENYAN... TWICE!

Each time he ran.

Some voted hundreds of times (via ACORN)

Voter fraud is rampant, and will get worse as Obama and crew increase the dem voter base
by leaps and bounds what with the sieve of a Mexican border they created.

May be quite a disruption before the next Prez elections.

I'm sure Holder is fast and furiously arming the administrations cartel member buddies
and ISIS etc terrorists streaming across the border while they instruct ICE to allow coddle anyone coming across the border.

We discovered that the border patrol agents are quite frustrated that their good CONSTITUTIONAL
work is being undermined by our Coyote-in-Chief and the traitorous criminal traitors in his employ
when we hung out at the Texas/Mexican border a few weeks ago.

They are creating a crisis that they can take advantage of.

"You never let a serious crisis go to waste.
And what I mean by that it's an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before." - Rahm Emanuel.

RICO act should have kicked in years ago. Impeach Impeach Impeach!
