Believe it or not, I agree with this.
Rifles are not the correct weapon for schools.
Too much penetration and potential targets are only 50ft away.

“Compton schools are not located in Beirut, Gaza, or Kabul.”
No they are not, they are actually far far worse than Beirut, Gaza, or Kabul.

Who in their right mind would send their kid to a school that has to have security with AR’s or AK’s? Oh, never mind - I think I answered my own question.

Give the cops Thompsond, M - 2’s, M - 1’s, or M - 14’s.

That’s actually kind of stupid.
What we’ve discovered through trial and error is that, in the case of something bad happening at a school, a good guy with a pistol right now is much better than 4 guys with rifles a few minutes from now.
If you give the resource officer a rifle is he supposed to carry it around on a 1 point sling all day? No, it’s going to be secured in his car. If something happens, this guy needs to already be resolving it instead of running out to his car for a rifle.

If the school was subject to an actual TERRORIST ATTACK (and I don't mean a student with a gun-shaped pastry or a scary NRA T-shirt) then I would not mind them having firepower.
But then I would not mind if ALL the teachers who so chose were armed.

Those are scary looking rifles, outlawed for most Californians. So are they saying that these are VALID devices for defending property from dangers?
Gosh, you mean the whole ban in California is wrong? ;)
School security (as well as security for every elected or appointed person in California) should be limited to the same weapons permitted to the citizens of California. Unless they suddenly became citizens of more reasonable states?

In a school environment, a pistol with frangable ammo for “gotta take care of it right now situations”. The rifle, again with frangable ammo, for the precision role.
