Obama, unlike his predecessors who traditionally had the document briefed to them, is known to personally read the daily brief.

I don't believe this, and think it was thrown out to make him look more knowledgeable and involved than most presidents. Remember, he attends no more than half of his intelligence meetings, and he seems to find out about many things after he reads them in the newspaper.

Whether he actually reads the briefs or not, making people think that he does only leaves him more culpable.

I believe the claim. He obviously does not want to sit through a briefing about something he cares zip about (or worse, he actually is supporting the enemy which he is being briefed about). So sure - he asks for the document and says he'll read it (during the commercial breaks on whatever he's watching on ESPN).

This doesn’t mean he read his daily briefing. “Reading it himself” doesn’t mean he’s the smartest guy in the room. It means he didn’t care enough to be briefed and simply said, “Send me a memo.” ... on our national security.

He said he read it. Yeah Right more like he faked it. Then never asked follow-up questions

Could it be why he calls ISIS ISIL?

I don't believe he reads it at all. He doesn't want to know. He doesn't want to waste his time being briefed so he probably just hands it to Valerie who may read it or just pass it on to the continuum, whoever they may be.

Thank you! That statement completely contradicts earlier reports of him NOT reading those briefings..but letting others do so and then briefing him. I’m sure Valerie is one of those advisors. Other Presidents are/were capable of reading themselves. Bush’s Presidential portrait his him holding one.

Agreed. It’s against 0bama’s faith to hear anyone say bad things about his faith. So he ignores being put in that situtation.

He “personally reads” it because there will be no one around to see him and know that he never even glances at it. He actually does have a plan, and it’s not favorable to the US.
