The coming midterm elections just weeks away may yet prove to be the most important in the history of the United States, and of the world.
There is a chance it cannot yet be put any higher than that that the GOP may recapture control of the Senate. The future of civilization itself may depend upon its succeeding.
The threat is real so real that even to vote Democrat comes close to being treason. Lest that statement should sound too extreme, let me explain.

The dynamics will change significantly. The results probably wont.

Getting 25% of what we want, by re-capturing the Senate, is better than continuing to get 75% of what we don’t want under a Democrat Senate. After the re-capture, we can continue the fight to unseat RINOS, and, if we persevere, we’ll gradually drive them out.

Nothing CAN change until a new POTUS is elected. Even if the GOP captures both houses of Congress this November. BHO will simply pull out his veto pen. The best we can hope for is a stalemate for now and to use 2014 as a building block for 2016. The Dems did precisely this in the 2006 midterm elections, capturing both house of congress, then elect winning the big trifecta in 2008, winning the presidency, the House, and the Senate. 2014 is critically important in laying the groundwork for 2016. The above article is absolutely correct.
Even if the GOP wins a narrow majority in the Senate, watch for someone to switch parties keeping the Rats in the majority.
This statement reflects a very shallow and superficial view of how the Senate operates, expressing only the operation of the filibuster. The number one difference will be that Harry Reid will not be the Majority Leader. Even with a much less than adequate McConnell (not assured, by the way), this will be an enormous change. Many conservative programs and policies popular with the American people never see the light of day, much less come to a vote because Reid controls the agenda. Do you really think that any Republican Majority Leader will behave identically? With Reid gone, the debate changes, the order of business changes, the votes change. Probably not as much as desired, but significant.
In the Senate, the real power is in the hands of the committee Chairs. All the Democrats will be gone, replaced by Republicans many of whom are conservative. Conservative changes will come in a Republican Senate and the committee Chairs will be leading the way.
Nothing strikes fear in the heart of a politician more than the smell of blood from his ideological kinsman. It changes their behavior as they suddenly discover their conservative side. It's not sincere, but they will vote with the majority to curry favor and advance deals. Without political power, the Democrats are just a bunch of squabbling small time criminals.
Too many people around here are drinking the Kool Aid. You can't seriously believe that another Reid led Senate is good for the country or good for conservatives. Of course it is not and this sort of babble ought to stop.

Her father was an African-American professor and her mother was an early childhood education expert/advocate, professor, and author.
And look what the experts turned out.
Every one advocates sending the kids to college and I do not deny that many great things have been accomplished because of college but I believe history has proven it is also that very thing that is destroying this country which holds freedom so dear.
If I had known 50 years ago what I now know I might have been out in the streets calling out for every one to burn every dam book except the Bible.
Not that I believe all books are bad but to get all of the bad ones we would have to burn them all.
I never could understand why there has been so much book burning but it makes a little more sense as time goes by.
The only problem is the ones in power are the ones who decide which books to burn.
I agree. When the dem's are in charge, they play hardball. But with today's GOP leaders, all you'll get is mush.
Hes probably right, we need to get out there and win this fight just one more time.
We may not have high hopes but shall not have any hopes should we lose.
super majority in the house and senate would render the POTUS useless..
They could over ride veto’s..
Not that getting a super majority in the senate is even a chance.
IF they win the senate and hold the house. Obama will just say..
“I have tried to work with the house and senate, but they are blocking my common sense plans. Therefor, I am forced to go it alone and pass an executive order”.
same old same old..
BHO can say whatever he likes. Fact he is a lame duck-—a clusterfoxtrot IMHO.
But we need to build up for 2016. Just like the Dems captured control of both Houses of Congress in 2006 and then the presidency two years later, it was enabled them to pass crap like Obamacare. We need to do long range planning like that too and think strategically not emotionally, even if that means holding our noses and voting for candidates we don’t like including McConnell and Cochran.
There are three points that need to be considered.
First, this is a GOP-favoring year with more seats up. 2016 will be a Dem favoring year. Every additional seat the GOP wins this year is a buffer against 2016, which, if 2014 and 2016 are good for Dems could give them another filibuster proof supermajority.
Second, with a GOP House and Senate there’ll be opportunities to slip poison pills into the appropriations bills that can undermine things like Obamacare by stripping out funding. A big problem has been that the government operates often via all or nothing continuing resolutions. Start sending the approps bills up individually, doing the Defense one first and saving the ones we want to challenge Obama on for last. Dare Obama to veto those, which will gut his programs but otherwise still have the government opening and functioning.
Finally, the Republicans in the Senate did a good job (actually) of bottling up appointments. Otherwise Reid wouldn’t have used the nuclear option. Were now looking at several Dem stacked appeals courts; GOP control of the Senate will make further stacking much harder
Leftism/Marxism/Communism is nothing more than the efforts of Lucifer to establish a one world “nation” just as Nimrod and his Siriramis tried to do at Babel. God confused the language so that the people would not be able to understand one another. This frustrated the efforts to build a tower to reach Heaven and openly defy God. God intended for the nations to spread to the corners of the earth, to multiply and subdue the earth. No, He did not intend for us to rape and pillage it in the process, but in subduing it, it would become orderly and stay beautiful.
Natural man has ever been at odds with God and has become more aggressive in attempting to strip even the very mention of God’s name out of civil society. The republicans winning IS necessary, so don’t get me wrong, but it is going to take more than just that. Too many republicans are leftist in their ideology. They run on a republican ticket because republicans win in their districts, not because they are truly republicans. We have proof of this every day. SO, even if we do win, we cannot sit back thinking that everything will be okay now. We are in a battle for the very souls of men, Biblically speaking, as well as the physical realm. The left intends to destroy the founding father’s vision, dream, and all they accomplished. They have already written their essays on how the founding father’s wisdom is now added to the trash heap of history. In order to prevent them from making it true, we must continue the fight to win back what they accomplished for us. There is always more to be done to preserve our blessed legacy, and until EVIL is destroyed by the Prince of Peace, there will always be more bloodshed needed in this.
Based on what I have observed and heard, I am going to have to agree with you.
I disagree. A strong conservative senate leader can do alot to turn this ship around.
A true statement, but unlikely to happen.
If McConnell is re-elected, he will be Senate leader if Republicans win control. McConnell is far from a "strong conservative" -- or a "strong leader" for that matter -- which is why little will change as long as obama remains in power. McConnell is clearly intimidated by the fractionally-black Arab-American president.
Huge difference.
We can pass the bills and with the House they will finally reach Obama’s desk. He will be put on the spot because the bills will be clear and the public will be in favor of them.
Elections matter.
It’s not just a seat or two. It’s the chairs.
We get to present bills and in conjunction with the House. Huge difference.
Do you really think continuing with Reid is better?
No one will switch parties. We don’t have a Jeffords this time around.
