MEXICO CITY
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Thursday said he has no plans to lay out his positon on immigration reform until and if he decides to run for president.
Christie, who was in the middle of a three-day trade mission to Mexico, had conspicuously side-stepped the thorny issue on the first day of his trip, making no mention of legislation stalled in Congress or the flow of Central American children crossing into the United States illegally through Mexico.
On Day 2, however, the potential 2016 contender told reporters that he would only discuss the issue, which Republicans have described as crucial to the future of their party, "if and when I become a candidate for president of the United States."
"If that happens, then I will articulate a full position on it and then you guys can pick it apart and praise it or damn it however you like," he said before lunch at a taco restaurant.

Trade mission? I thought he was there to get his lap band adjusted?
Well according to Jerry Rivers “expert” opinion, there are no islamic terrorists coming in from Mexico. Instead we need to build a wall on the northern border.
All I know about Christie is that he is responsible for every traffic jam ever, everywhere!!
piñatagate
CC should get a copy of their laws and bring them back for use here.
Irresolute, unprincipled and spineless people with no conviction and people who are afraid of their own shadow .... will invariably dodge this issue.
However, it’s certainly the acid test for any Conservative who is serious about being elected/re-elected in this country, any time soon.
Frankly, I don’t know HOW any politician can consider side-stepping this and STILL call himself/herself ‘leadership material’.
America cannot afford to import disease, poverty and crime on this (or any) scale. There is NO logic (and in the end) NO practical purpose for anyone involved, to continue bringing people here who will only be an economic burden and the source of social discord for decades to come.
SUICIDE
You have to vote for the man to find his positions.
It’s about time somebody had enough balls to ask the Mexican President (on camera) why his country is so screwed up!
Who supports this idiot?
Kinda like Conlin Bowell when people were all excited about him. He would say a word publicly because he knew that half of his ‘supporters’ would defect if he did. So he held a series of ‘private’ fundraisers where everyone had to give up their recording devices and sign consent forms to be let in.
And, as we now know, he basically gave the finger to conservatives.
Did he ask about our imprisoned Marine??
will he talk getting our Marine back?
Christie is a pathetic sick joke. OMG.
Fat boi is such a DemocRat.
I'm happy that he's done as a viable presidential candidate, but it's quite irritating that the left was able to accomplish the feat by whipping up a whirlwind of faux outrage around a blip of a scandal.
Christie's aides created a traffic jam by closing three of a dozen inbound lanes to the GWB. No evidence has surfaced that he had prior knowledge or attempted any coverup after the fact. He fired those responsible.
Somehow, the media made this lame-ass scandal bigger than Obama running guns internationally to drug cartels; politicizing the IRS as a weapon to influence a presidential election; illegally wire tapping on journalists, senators, foreign leaders, and regular civilians; allowing security failures to lead to the death of four Americans then attempting to cover it up; etc. etc. etc.
But Christie's finished nationally, so we call his head on the leftist platter good news.
Mexico is just the ‘rest stop’ for mobs of losers on their way from their Central American sh*& holes to the US!
PERIOD
