“...Rafale is the best fighter plane in the world - Air Chief Marshal Denis Mercier”
Bwahahahahahahahaha. . . stop it, Denis, you are killing me. . .bwahahahahaha
That rondel(Bullseye) on the wings is there for our F-35s missiles to home in on. Le Pooof!
Raptors would blow Rafale out the sky before they knew what hit them. A better question would be which of the Generation 4.5 fighters, for example Eurofighter, is the best.
The Rafale is a heck of a fighter. It is is bit short ranged, but that is probably a good thing. Users have less potential to annoy their neighbors with airstrikes.
And right now, F-35s are mostly expensive “vaporware.”
But we’re not going to be fighting anyone who buys Rafales. We’re going to be fighting folks who have Sov, er, Russian aircraft. Or no aircraft at all. I would more worried about the performance of the latest Sukhoi or Chinese mystery plane than I would be about Rafales. And I’d like to see the US acquiring more drones with air to ground capability so that they can loiter and support ground troops.
Oh, he must be a real expert, then.
How precious. Get bent, Frenchy.
If there was an Olympics event to determine the best fighter, not the best missile, the Rafale would pass the entrance exam and weigh-in.
But would it make it to the final four?
If they allow their many muzzies to fly these planes, France will be in deep sh*t.
Last I checked our record against Soviet hard ware since Korea is perfect!!
Undoubtedly, the Rafale is a superb high performance fighter...France is rightfully proud of the Rafale...And I would defer to your knowledge and opinions on this subject...
But it occurs to me the man behind the stick and his training are more often the deciding factors in aerial combat...And in this area, USAF, Naval and Marine pilots and aviators are across the board, the worldwide superior force, IMHO...
If I had to face Jerry Miculek in a shoot-off, it wouldn’t matter what gun I was using; I’d lose...
Thoughts?
Sorry, Hulka...My comments were meant for Sukhoi...
Clicked on the wrong “Reply To”...
My bad...
Where?
Excellent point, and we saw that over the years. . .as we crush all those that challenge us. . .no matter what they were flying. . .
Hah. . .no worries.
Yep. But it doesn’t pay to be overconfident.
3,000 hours in a fighter would qualify him as an “expert” by virtue of the fact that he has strapped a jet to his back about 3,000 times. One hour missions with the intensity required to fly a fighter is enough for me...I have respect for him.
