I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with your recent actions as Ohio University’s (OU) student senate president. In my constitutionally protected opinion, you have exhibited some serious anti-Semitic tendencies. You have also come across as an unprincipled opportunist. Of course, I am referring to the manner in which you responded to the charge from OU President Roderick McDavis to participate in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Instead of taking it seriously, you decided to douse yourself in fake blood in order to make a grossly ill-timed political statement.
According to my friends at Campus Reform, you decided to pull the stunt in an effort to send a message concerning the “genocide in Gaza” and the “occupation of Palestine by the Israeli state.” They also report that you are urging OU to “divest and cut all ties with academic and other Israeli businesses and institutions.” Moreover, I see that you have made a video in which you say the following:
“This bucket of blood symbolizes the thousands of displaced and murdered Palestinians, atrocities which OU is directly complacent [sic] in through cultural and economic support of the Israeli state."
Of course, you are wrong to suggest that your Palestinian blood bath challenge places you on a moral high ground relative to those who accept the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. In fact, many supporters of the ALS challenge and the Palestinian liberation movement are deeply immoral, and for the same reason: They are willing to kill innocent children in order to achieve their long-term organizational goals.
In the case of the Ice Bucket Challenge, money is diverted to ALS Association funds that support a number of different types of research. According to their website, embryonic stem-cell research is among those types.
In embryonic stem cell research, scientists begin with a female egg and a male sperm. Next, they fertilize the egg in a lab. After life begins to form, they remove the embryonic stem cells. This research is not the same thing as helping people who are struggling with infertility. Here, instead of implanting the fertilized embryo into a mother, the embryos are discarded after the research is complete. In other words, life is created for the purpose of destroying it – all in the name of medical research.
To be sure, the ALS Association website says that “most” of the research they fund is not wrought with these ethical issues. But the key word is “most.” Therefore, some of it is. And that is why you were right to turn down President McDavis when he issued the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. However, you were wrong to make a statement in favor of the Palestinian liberation movement. Their political cause is also wrong – and for precisely the same reasons.
It is difficult to avoid concluding that the Palestinian liberation movement has bought into the notion that killing innocent children is permissible if it helps to achieve long-term political goals. In fact, you can find evidence of that belief right before you very eyes on college campuses not far from you in the Buckeye state.
Take, for example, Kent State history professor Julio Pino. This nasty Muslim extremist and terrorism advocate has actually used the Kent State newspaper to promote the idea that children should be wired with bombs and sent into Israeli cafes in order to blow up women and other children – all in the name of liberating Palestinians. By the way, your tax dollars pay Pino’s salary. But you don’t seem to care. In fact, you want to join the movement in order to prove that you are morally superior.
But you aren’t morally superior. In fact, one could say you are “complacent” in the deaths of innocent children. I think you need to do something about this. So I have an idea for you – that is, if you really want to step out of your comfort zone and challenge the status quo on college campuses. And here it is in all its attention-seeking glory:
First, take a bucket and fill it with dismembered plastic baby dolls. Second, fill the bucket with tomato juice. Third, have a friend dump the bucket on your head while another captures the spectacle on video. Finally, post it on Facebook and watch the thing go viral.
In other words, stop being a conformist to causes you don’t understand. Take a stand against the real genocide of abortion, not a fake genocide that is contrived by anti-Semitic college professors.
In short, divest and cut all ties with academic hypocrisy and pseudo-intellectual exhibitionism. Take the abortion bucket challenge today.
This whole “bucket challenge” meme is getting tiresome (as is the word “meme”), but Adams might have a good idea here. It’s a graphic way to demonstrate the horror of abortion and it fits right in with the Youtube generation. Might catch on ...

In a day when “Question Authority” means conforming to the prevailing hedonistic winds of the time, would any of our young people have the moral courage and emotional fortitude to accept and implement such a challenge?
The nice thing is that the fads are becoming shorter and shorter. I remember when things like the Doing the Macarena lasted months and months. Now they come and go in a week. I attribute it to decreasing attention spans and too much marijuana use by a majority of the American population.
Shorter and shorter in duration, but stupider and stupider in effect.
Dumping a bucket of ... something ... over your head as a way of making a statement. Uh, sure ...
And let’s not forget “planking.” Or “sharking.” Or flash mobs. Collective lunacy.

Doing the Macarena was actually fun, but I have no use for this Hashtag craze and will absolutely refuse to use it
