Terror raids: Muslim radical Uthman Badar warns of backlash against ‘terrorism’ of government...

A MUSLIM leader chose the hallowed steps of Lakemba’s War Memorial to preach outrage and condemnation over the anti-terror raids across Sydney.

In front of 300 angry protesters, controversial Hizt ut-Tahrir spokesman Uthman Badar warned of a growing anger within the Islamic community and said it was time to stop the victimisation. “We are tired of being made scapegoats. The government is the terrorist,” he declared to the gathering, many waving anti-government placards.

Protesters packed the lawns of the Canterbury council-controlled RSL reserve — booked by rally organisers for one hour from 7pm — as a group of speakers branded the anti-terror swoop as an overkill aimed at creating fear.

We won't stand by, as Muslims are vilified

Really? Sorry, Abdul, but you deserve every vilification the world can level at you. And until the mythical "moderate Muslims" grow a pair an stop the beheadings in the name of your religion, the world has every right to vilify you, your religion, and every other aspect of Islam.

Muslims need to be pitched out of all Western countries.

Those mosques need to be shut down and empty lots should replace them.

Islam is not compatible with the west.

Most westerners (including me) believe ISIS is the full stinking flower of Islam, the same Islam that Sharia loving Muslims say they eventually want around the world. ISIS is just not even making a weak pretense at ‘dialog or negotiation’, the way Hamas does. Two peas in a pod.

Hey Muslimes, if you do not want vilification, do something to reform your dangerous cult. May be the first step would be to stop blaming others for your own terrorist tendencies?!

Makes one wonder where the Australian people are?

We seem to be all together in the same place. Sitting all things out.

The bad guys take a platform. We watch them.

The bad guys triumph over our border. We watch them.

The pinko pacifists take over senatorial hearings with their camera hogging signs. We watch them.

Basically, the pushovers are us. We need to form our own gangs. Let them watch and listen.

“ISIS is the full stinking flower of Islam”

Excellently put, sir!

I call ISIS the tip of the spear that is Islam aimed at the world’s “infidels”.

Are you in Australia? Are you allowed to keep weapons at home? How about outside the home? I thought everyone had turned in their weapons after some mass shooting several years ago.

Yes, I’m in Australia. Yes, we are allowed to keep weapons at home. Yes, we are allowed to use weapons outside the home - the most common purpose being for hunting, which some people do professionally, and others do as a sport.

Gun laws were changed in the aftermath of the Port Arthur Massacre of 1996 - in essence, the rules on licencing were changed so people have to have the right licence to own and use particular firearms. We also have universal registration (we had that before 1996). But unless you have a criminal record, it’s very easy to get a basic licence (which allows for basic hunting style rifles and shotguns) and it’s not that difficult to get higher level licences allowing for handguns and semi-automatics provided you’re willing to fill in the right forms. Fully automatics are pretty much impossible for a normal person, and some semi-automatics are almost as restricted, and there are calibre limits on handguns (I own a .38 because getting a licence for a .38 is a lot easier than getting one for a handgun with a higher calibre than that).

Our gun laws are a long, long way from perfect, but they are nowhere near as bad as people have sometimes lead to believe. There are millions of legally held firearms in private hands in Australia - most are non-semi-automatic rifles and shotguns, but there’s still quite a lot of us with more than that as well.

Thank you for clarifying. Hopefully some other FReepers will see your post as I think there is some confusion about your laws. Of course, over here, there is confusion when traveling through different States. (Not that I would want any national laws)
