I think you could say the same thing about Colt 45 Malt Liquor. I think it was big in the hood too.

I’ll write that Olde English 800 down. Perhaps I’ll run into it sometime, if it’s still around.

It is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olde_English_800

1.183 liter bottle too...

PBR’s claim to fame is the neon signs along Rt. 13 in Wisconsin.

Cheap swill. In competition with Stroh’s and Burgmeister Pabst rules.

But personally the worst beer I have ever tasted would have to be Weidemann’s

I believe the slogan was: "Weide's-The breakfast of ex-champions".

They can have Miller and Pabst as far as I’m concerned. We should have given them away a long time ago.

I can only see this as a continuation of a trend of major US companies being purchased by foreign companies. It does not speak well for the health of the nation’s economy.

Perhaps this is an instance of Russian investors trying to invest profits overseas in light of Putin’s adventurism and tightening political grip at home.

They also used to brew “Red, White, and Blue”. I am sure the Russians are chortling over that.

Your response does seem to fit somewhat with my comments, but you copied and pasted someone else’s comments.

I don’t disagree with your take on it. It does bother me to see our nation’s businesses sold off to foreign interests.

I consider businesses to be national assets.

The American public have got to want it. I’m not convinced they have the collective IQ to feel the need.

I would say that they have to be willing to give it up. Namely the so called safety net.

For this country to turn it around we have to go back to the country’s tradition of self-sufficiency. The people of this country have to be willing to tell the pigs at the welfare feeding trough to go get their own.

All of these people that are taking way more than they are putting in have got to be made to pay their own way.

Forty-seven percent of the population can not support fifty-three percent. It simply can not be done.

We have to put limits on Welfare program. Obama illegally stopped the limits put in place during Clinton’s administration. It must be reinstated.

Pabst Blue Ribbon is the quintessential American brand – it represents individualism, egalitarianism and freedom of expression – all the things that make this country great, daily drinkers on a tight budget.

Fixed it.

Even robots can see the humor in that one."

Pabst or just PBR to fans, Schlitz, Strohs and Budweiser were so popular in my hometown, I mistakenly assumed that my Midwest hometown was home of the original breweries.

My solution to the welfare problem is this. Start paying out 1/24th less each month until the whole thing is gone in 24 months.

Give people 12 to 24 months warning before this starts.

In 36 to 48 months 75 to 95% of welfare is gone.

At the same time we need to encourage business development.

We need jobs here. We need our people to make enough money to live on.

I also want to see a different way to accrue economic stability for individuals.

I’ve been working on a comprehensive idea for months now.

At first I think it might draw some big objections, because people wouldn’t understand it up front. People are skeptical of change. I know because I am one of them.

If given some time to study it and grasp how much it could change people’s lives, I think there would be a big buy-in.

It would eliminate Social Security, Medicare, and help people avoid the costs of insurance and home procurement.

It could make people independently wealthy possibly as early as their early to mid 50s.

There are also aspects that would stimulate the economy, and basically eliminate the poor, for anyone who would work.

I need to develop a rough draft and let folks review it.

It’s good, my favorite is Totally Naked.
