Giffords’ group applauds Republican pushing for gun control

In its fourth advertisement released this week, a pro-gun control group applauded a Republican congressman’s efforts to reduce gun violence.

Americans for Responsible Solutions (ARS), the group founded by former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords after she was critically wounded in a shooting outside of a supermarket in 2011, is urging Pennsylvanians to vote for GOP Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick in November’s election.

As the narrator explains in the 30-second spot, “Not Afraid to Lead,” the incumbent congressman has attempted to encourage his colleagues — both Republicans and Democrats — in Washington to pass stricter gun control measures. Last year, Fitzpatrick co-sponsored a bill that would have expanded background checks for gun purchases online and at gun shows. He also wants to strengthen reporting to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System.

Not that I probably need to give a heads up to folks in PA, heads up anyway. Bizzaro world. Dems using guns as props in their ads, repulicrats using gun control in their ads. Just freakin' weird.

Hopefully they will support him VERY publicly. Mark Kelly should appear with him in campaign ads. Their support was critical for Evie Hudak, John Morse and Angela Giron here in Colorado.

There are no acceptable new laws restricting our God-given right to keep and bear arms. Most existing laws restricting that fundamental human right should be repealed. Anyone who opposes that position is protecting FedGov’s power over individuals, not protecting freedom.

Hey Giffords, perhaps some folks would be willing to trade in their guns in exchange for a pitbull capable of killing baby seals when off leash on a public beach where children are playing. Heck, just saying that makes me feel so much more peaceful and safe.

Anyway, it’s just an idea, please don’t lose your head over it.

The Dems THINK that he’s splitting apart the Republicans...but THEY, the Dems, ARE BEING PLAYED, although not on purpose.

Bottom line...the LAST THING that the Democrats want discussed in ANY ELECTION CYCLE is gun control. And he is bringing up the subject.

Of course this clown doesn’t realize that...since he seems as ARROGANT as Cantor was before we threw him on his ass.
