My father in law taught in Alaska many years ago. Carried a gun on his hip out at the playground in the fall when bears were fueling up for the winter and in the spring when winter long hunger drove them into town to fill up.

He always joked that a warning shot stopped running in the halls too.

Several of the ladies in my CAS club are teachers. I would hate to have any of them shooting at me.

The only problem I see is that when I was in high school, there were some students who thought it was their God given duty to drive the teacher over the edge.

It worked once.
