North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is said to be suffering from gout, a hereditary disease which he seems to have inherited from his father and grandfather.

The ruling North Korean leader, who is believed to be his early 30s, has not been seen in public for more than three weeks.

Hmmm....the two donut-heads next to the ones supporting the little riceball are wearing civilian windbreakers exactly like riceball’s daddy Kim Jong-Il used to.

I think they’re force feeding him until he croaks so a competent successor can be installed.

Harse Manahr!
Gout isn’t “hereditary”. It strikes anyone who indulges in a diet that increases uric acid in the system.

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.

How should a North Korean Christian (of which I hear there are quite a number) pray in this case?

The same way a committed Christian should be praying about Obama; that he receives Christ in his heart, repents and starts to correct all the wrongs he has wrought. Ain't gonna happen, but it couldn't hurt to ask!

There’s quite a number in the South, but it would be hard to tell in the North since anyone who gives the slightest indication they believe in anything but the Great Tub O’ Lard Leader have an automatic ticket to a work camp or the edge of a trench.

Gout is triggered by anything. Working in overheat environment and not drinking a lot of water might be a reason even if your diet is proper.
Technically gout builds up when your kidneys unable to evacuate most of the uric acid from your system. It maybe either too much uric acid in a system or bad kidney function. Surplus acid in a blood tends to make into joint fluid and crystallizes into a salt there deforming joints and producing enormous pain.

Behold the power of cheese. Literally.

Fat boy gobbles down cheese like Ben Gunn in Treasure Island wanted to. I wouldn’t be surprised if some very puzzled North Korean cheese makers got a large shipment of beaver milk from Venezuela, with orders to turn it into cheese.

And while cheese is less likely to directly give him gout, it definitely impacts other problems, like diabetes and kidney stones, which he may also have and are often associated with gout.

Colchrys or Colchicine will fix it. He may just not be willing to make a few life adjustments.

Refusing to take medicine because you are afraid that your doctors are trying to poison you has an impact, too.

Gout is triggered by liquor and hops. If he stuck to wine and Natty Lite, he'd be good.

Or, as the French would say, "Chacun a son gout."
