Unfortunately, there have been no significant, large scale conservative events since September 12, 2009. The “success” if the 2010 elections placated many in the Tea Party movement and there was no resumption of any momentum after that.

Cops just started advancing and first tear gas after the midnight “deadline”.
cops and protestors putting on gas masks, some brave camera folks being in that close. some students(?) putting up barracades
actually some very interesting barricades from the protestors - seem almost professional
cops have stopped and almost seem like they don’t know what to do - similar to what happened in ‘89 when local enforcement wouldn’t advance (The govt then ended up bringing in troops from outside the Beijing area to conduct the massacre).

looks like group of police overextended their advance and got surrounded - crowd let them out without incidence while chanting - very smart not to back them in a corner.

They are actually protesting to make a point about a civil greviance and not looking for an excuse to destroy someone else’s property and taking things that don’t belong to them.
