...only about 2% of women have a degree in a high-tech field.

Believe me, a lot of high-tech colleges and universities are aware of this and are actively recruiting women. Indeed, they are getting the type of reverse discrimination that blacks often get on admissions committees. If you are female and can fog a mirror, apply for a scholarship in a computer tech field...your chances of getting one are pretty good.

Maybe so, but I just saw where women out-strip men 58% to 42% in getting a college education, so I have to ask in what disciplines are they receiving degrees?
Ethnic studies, feminism, underwater basket weaving? Our “institutions of higher learning” evidently are failing in their mission to deliver women to the scientific workplace. But in concert with this, “women” continue to complain about this nostrum of unequal pay and/or being kept out of the board room. An MBA doesn’t get you a CEO job in the Silicon Valley, because you have to understand the underlying technology in your company’s products at the minimum.

Saw a new TV show last night, Scorpion I think it’s called, about a team of four tech geniuses who solve problems for the government. Of course there is the obligatory woman on the team, but she is Asian. A white (or black) woman wouldn’t have been as credible.
