LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - An Israeli-owned container ship that was blocked from unloading its cargo at the Port of Oakland by pro-Palestinian protesters over the weekend was headed to Los Angeles on Monday, according to a ship-tracking website.

The Zim Shanghai left Oakland with its cargo still onboard on Sunday evening, according to the website marinetraffic.com. It was expected to arrive in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Some 200 people angry over Israel's bombardment of the Gaza Strip in response to Hamas rocket salvoes staged a protest of the Zim Shanghai at the Port of Oakland on Saturday morning and again that afternoon.

Members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union, saying they were threatened physically and their vehicles blocked as they tried to report to work, refused to unload the ship.

I don’t believe that for a second. The union leaders were sympathetic to the protest and involved in some way.

I’m so tempted to think that these people should be deprived forever of products/services/therapies developed or produced in Israel.

They’re all, 8 or so protestors and union thugs, Nazis in the SS/Gestapo tradition. We fought a war to wipe away these genocidal shits but their ideology was maintained within the American democrat party.

Have you noticed that nobody showed up to protest and stop the unloading of any Palestinian ships?

Oh wait. Palestinians don’t produce anything. Anything other than hate that is.

Maybe ships should shun the Port of Oakland and the rest of the Bay Area. Lefties will claim a victory even with the negative impact on the economy. They took a stand! They showed The Man!

Then they should not use any Microsoft or Intel products. Maybe they should scale back to the seventh century in solidarity with the Muslimz. It’s all about being down with tha struggle!

So this is how bad security has become at our nation's ports?

This was posted by Artichoke Grower last night, and my post was as follows: “The next port of call for the Israeli containership would be Los Angeles anyway, so as those costs are fixed into the voyage already they have the drayage costs to Northern California to contend with only. It’s cheaper to truck North what freight they couldn’t offload in Oakland than having the vessel tied up by the protesters.”

It’s a damned shame we have idiots in Oakland, but they seem to be everywhere in the U.S.A anymore.

I don't believe that Israel is a NAFTA member whom could recover costs from the protesters, union, city and state. Too bad.
