We do not need to stop air traffic. If you come from West Africa you need to go into quarantine for 14 days. Paid for by the traveler. If asymptomatic after 14 days and antibody titer free, let them out of quarantine. This would make travel possible but only those that are on essential business would travel. This would work. The airlines would cancel most of their flights due to low load factors or the ticket prices would need to go way up to compensate for low load factors.

If American is stricken with Ebola and the only cause that can be determined was the airline flown, would there be civil suits up the wazoo?

Are airlines going to be held responsible for flying the Ebola stricken or people with Ebola connections from west African countries?

Healthcare won't be cheap with Ebola - I hear lawyers smacking their lips already.
