For the Chinese Communists to adopt a U.S.-style Constitution would be suicidal. The people would use free speech to criticize and castigate the regime. They would use a free press to expose its incompetence, injustice and corruption. And they would use free elections to be rid of the regime and party.

Good luck to them. We have half a government full of American communists and half a nation behind them. China has a better chance to rid themselves of theirs than do we, they have many decades of crushing repression and anger fueling their desire to drive their oppressors out. Sadly, I say--Good luck to us.

But what is transpiring in Hong Kong may be of far greater consequence.

Depends on whether you and your family catch it. That would be overwhelmingly significant for you. Also, I think the significance of a US "President" purposely infecting the nation in order to eventually be able to declare martial law is much greater than what goes on in China.
