I think people are finally frustrated with the lack of challenge by the GOP. I have noticed in the general comments on all the threads I scan that the concept of a real conservative alternative is more viable than it has ever been.

I would call it the Free Republic party...I think a basic platform would be similar to the principles of FR.

Jim, any thoughts in that regard?

The first part of the Declaration of Independence goes into much detail listing their grievances.

The last papragraph of the Declaration of Independence goes into detail about what specifically they were going to do about it. It is quoted herein:

"We, therefore, the Representatives of the united States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare, That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States; that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do. And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor."

I hear a lot of listing of grievances here on FR but not too much about the specifics of what we're going to do about it.

So do you want to absolve yourself from allegiance to the current government and establish a new independent state? That is the bottom line of what the Declaration of Independence is about. That's what they were going to do and that's what they did. Are we ready to do the same?

The Founders left us a remedy of last resort for a government that ‘’becomes destructive of these ends’’. They and generations of Americans, including myself would hardly have ever thought for a moment about using this remedy. I pray to God we would never have to but by God, these are desperate times. This isn't a government anymore, it's a criminal gang bent of destroying America. I seriously believe this man in The White House is trying to kill off as many of us as possible and subjugate the rest of us. How many times in the past twenty years have these Marxists(Democrats) tried to disarm us? Doesn't that tell you anything? God save us from having to use the remedy of last resort.

I am coming to the view that the electoral process has degenerated into a stacked deck. I see nothing to convince me that 2016 will be any different from 2012, 2008, 2004....Conservatives divide, waste resources and we exhaust ourselves, devouring each other.

The hope I see is the Convention of States for the purpose of proposing amendments. The Courts must be legally restrained and it’s too late to hope that elections will ever accomplish that.

With Obamacare, Chief Justice Roberts said it should be up to the will of The People not the court, and to let The People decide.
In this case he allows judges appointed for life to override The People.
The courts are owned by the Left.
