Thomas Eric Duncan, the first known person to develop Ebola in the United States, has died in Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, according to Texas Health Resources.
"It is with profound sadness and heartfelt disappointment that we must inform you of the death of Thomas Eric Duncan this morning at 7:51 am. Mr. Duncan succumbed to an insidious disease, Ebola. He fought courageously in this battle. Our professionals, the doctors and nurses in the unit, as well as the entire Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas community, are also grieving his passing. We have offered the family our support and condolences at this difficult time," the Texas Health Resources statement said.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Tom Frieden said Tuesday that Duncan had been intubated and was on dialysis, and remained in "critical condition." The Dallas hospital was focusing on keeping his fluid levels and electrolyte balance maintained, he said.
"What we've learned about Ebola is how important it is to get the patient's basic care right," Frieden said.

Nope, developed it in Africa, flew it here with him.
But Jesse was on the way to save the day!
Its sad that the man died, but he came here and put thousands at risk....he lied to the authorities to get here.....
Wow that was a fast death. Now I understand why our first radical Muslim POTUS is doing his utmost to see it spread in the US. When it eventually spreads in every major US city and 100s of thousands of people are dying, do you think Congress MAY by then consider impeachment or are they going to require millions of deaths?
But the latte cup said that there is nothing to worry about...
I hope the Cremate his body, there should be no open casket burial.
...wait, let me guess.
Got a mirror?
With Ebola spreading now like wildfire, there are less of us to fight the muslimes and their president.
>>> He fought courageously in this battle.
Give me a Fn break!
Victim, black, ..... Let’s make Mr. Duncan a saint!
I am hold back my opinion until we if he comes back in time to order the brains for lunch.
I smell a lawsuit...
Don’t laugh. They’ll probably say that the ER triage staff racially profiled him and that’s why he got antibiotics and painkillers instead of actual care.
This is not news. Ebola kills indiscriminately.
Who’s picking up the tab?
...wait, let me guess.
...
How long before the relatives sue the hospital?
Maybe they’ll send him back to his homeland.
You know it’s coming.
“courageous” would have been to isolate himself in Africa and not travel after known exposure to ebola
