Rather characterized the current state of journalism using the term interregnum the old order is gone, but the new order is not yet in place.
The major concern for the future of journalism, he said, is how it will be financed in a way that provides the audience with quality, integrity-driven content in the years to come.
...
Rather also noted that the measure of journalism and those who cover it is the level and quality of service provided to the public.
Commercial enterprises that report the news hold the public trust, he explained, and doing so with integrity is journalism at its best

Yeah, we know, Dan. You can thank FR for that. You’re welcome.
Has Kenneth been told the frequency yet?
Courage, Dan. Courage.
If a frog had side-pockets ...
“quality, integrity-driven content”
Dan “Kenneth what is the frequency” Rather would not know quality, integrity driven content if it bit him in the ass. Nothing in Rather’s entire career was quality or integrity driven.
He was nothing but a paid liar. It is better that he is gone. He should just shut up.
hold the public trust, he explained, and doing so with integrity.................... OK, I get it, that’s the punch line of the joke. Pretty funny, LOL. Now he’s into comedy???
Needless to say, the concepts of quality and integrity in alleged "news" content mean strange and scary things to Mister Dan-the-Forger.
.
If I saw Rather and integrity in the same sentence there is no way I would mentally process the word as a noun. Rather I might think it something else entirely!
This guy coined civilian assault vehicles (tanks) at Waco.
There’s a special place waiting for him.
What a jerk! These Progs have to shame. The guy got busted! Can’t he just shut up - & go away!!
The comedy writes itself.
There fixed another of your mistakes Dan. There is no more journalism in the MSM. Just propaganda.
Forgot a ‘d’ in front of that word, Dan.
Journalism is heading toward where it was at the founding of the republic, a pluralism of interest based publications, that inform their audiences of what is happening to their interests. Everyone knows that they have interests; but there are many of them, and you can get a good feel about what is going on by accessing several.
What we had from about the time the Associated Press was formed, up to the present, was a class of professional gatekeepers that claimed to be “objective” but was in fact taken over by a political class consumed with gathering power to itself and the state.
The question is: can the Republic survive the dying throes of that politically motivated oligopoly.
