New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie could be forgiven if he had chips on both shoulders as big as those shoulders. This year, the first of his second term, has been overshadowed by often partisan investigations, more protracted than productive, of the involvement of several of his former aides he fired them in the closing of some access lanes to the George Washington Bridge.

For some reason Mr. Will does not mention under Christie's governorship NJs debt rating has been downgraded if I remember right seven times. Christie is all bark and no bite.

As I’ve said before, he would be a fine Presidential candidate. As a Democrat.

When it comes to RINOs, I’ll take Christie over Huckabee and Bush. Not Romney, though.

And the conservative base sighs and changes the channel. Good luck winning with Christie on the ticket, GOP.

Given that theres no functional difference between the Democrat and Republican parties now that would mean hes a perfect Republican candidate too! (We learned all this with Romney, right? Bah, it doesnt matter, hes electable!)

I’d agree...no.
This is a gimmick to get him a VP spot, I have no doubt. But he won’t carry any state other than New Jersey, and he’s a three-pound boat anchor in the south....not worth mentioning.
The bridge problem? I just can’t imagine him as a VP guy and the bridge deal not being an entire 60-second advertisement. He looks foolish, and if I were him....I’d just run for Senator and be happy to get that job. Frankly, I can’t even be sure he’s a Republican, or Democrat....just some lobbyistcrat.

Don’t want the Marshmallow Man...
If he is representative of the GOP, they do not want conservative independent votes and they won’t get this one.

Hmm. Chris “Bush Heavy” versus Mitt “Bush Lite” versus Jeb “Bush-whacker” might help a conservative candidate. Go for it big guy!

Well said. And sadly, I now feel that way about Wisconsin’s Senator Paul Ryan. (R/D, WI)
*SIGH* Just when you think it’s safe to go back into the water, LOL!

He'll be loved by the TV talk show crowd....during the primaries and then torn to shreds if he faces the Princess or Dizzie Miss Lizzie.
