I prefer the idea of public hanging. A firing squad is too dignified for those few that finally get put to death. Besides, you can only use the bullet once but you can use the rope over and over.
BTW, if you are selected for a jury and don't want to go through the trial, on your way into the court discuss your favorite methods of execution with your fellow jurists. I did that once the guy decided to plead guilty and we got to go home.
