They say there are 8,033 cases in several countries including the U.S. I doubt they’re only counting 2 here. I believe there are many more.

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

Personally I believe we’re asking for big trouble by sending in thousands of airborne unit combat troops to a country known as Liberia. Which according to some functionary appointed by “Obama The Magnificent Incompetent” are being sent there to help construct infastructure for a series of Ebola health clinics.

Liberia is a country created by former American slaves who’s capital,Monrovia,is named after an American President James Monroe. According to a report I heard from a local conservative talk show host which I could be wrong,(and truly hope so) reported. “The city has only 7 or 9 public toilets, and a mere 26 miles of fresh water piping.”

Right now the country has just gotten through a bitter civil war and seems to be the current epicenter of the Ebola outbreak that btw started after an infestation of caterpillars. I mention that because Sierra Leone where the epidemic originated from had the same experience.

Here is some of the other krap that is going on there;

doctors strike

malaria
While it’s obvious we gave this effort by former enslaved American citizens to return to the continent they were taken from meger attention and support following its creation than what should been given.

Under present circumstances we should be circumspective of the assistance we offer. Certainly sending combat units not equipted with the knowledge, training, or backgound to do what is needed. Placing them in harms way in an area where the likelyhood of contracting a deadly disease is pre eminent simply because it suits political symbolism is madness.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/ebola-spreads-in-nigeria-2-new-cases-unconnected-to-patrick-sawyer/

This story recounts how a slum area in Nigeria was blocked off and how looters took off with infected linen to spread amongst others.

Also:

ABUJA, Nigeria — Two alarming new cases of Ebola have emerged in Nigeria, widening the circle of people sickened beyond the immediate group of caregivers who treated a dying airline passenger in one of Africa’s largest cities.

The two new cases were infected by their spouses, both medical workers who had direct contact with Liberian-American Patrick Sawyer, who flew into Nigeria from Liberia and Togo and infected 11 others before he died in July. The male and female caregivers also then died of Ebola, Health Minister Onyebuchi Chukwu said Friday.”

Patrick Sawyer was a naturalized American from Liberia who brought ebola from Nigeria after taking care of his stricken sister.

CCTV shows he must have known that he was infected because he was avoiding contact with others and is seen writhing on the terminal floor.

The doctor who treated him then became infected:

Saw the CDC Director, Tom Frieden, on the news tonight explaining the 1st in-country infection was a nurse that took care of Duncan. Doc Tommy promptly blamed a “breach of protocol” (the nurse’s fault) for the infection although she was fully masked, gloved, and gowned. Sound familiar? Nurse who did the initial screening of Duncan was immediately blamed for the “incomplete communication of Duncan’s disease” to the treatment team. Then it was the team’s fault, then it was a software glitch, and finally it was dropped with some mumbling about everyone needing more training.

The strains of Ebola are significantly more dangerous and infectious than the CDC, WHO, and the rest are leading us to believe.

In the meantime, no mention above, and no definitive news anywhere on the Norwegian nurse other than 'remains stable'.
