Rule Of Law: How Obama’s EPA Is Trying To Regulate Your Creek Beds And Ditches

Have you ever seen some water runoff in your yard during a hard rain and attempted to put a boat in it for an afternoon cruise?

I didn’t think so. Such a thing is almost as ridiculous as the continued actions by the Obama Administration, and such runoff isn’t far from the type of “water” it is trying to put under the EPA’s control. Earlier this year, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (CoE) proposed a new regulation under the Clean Water Act (CWA) that would sweep in, as “waters of the U.S.,” millions of new miles of rivers and streams and, more alarming, areas of land that are dry most of the year and aren’t near a body of water.

So as not to offend any oceans, seas, gulfs, lakes, ponds, reservoirs, rivers, streams, brooks, puddles etc., anywhere water can collect will now only be referred to as "a body of water". This will also make it much easier for the epa to implement it's new rules and regs that carry the weight of law even though they aren't.

Leftists only respect “laws” that they agree with or have enacted.

So all the King’s land is their dominion? Richard Nixon signed off on some of the most destructive legislation in history when the EPA and its sister alphabet agencies were formed. They are claiming absolute authority over the surface of the US.

Agenda 21 again, Folks. Its all spelled out in the Wildlands Project, designed to force people off the land and end private property ownership. I'm not making this up!

Got a gallon of milk in the fridge? That is both a “body of water” and “hazardous waste”.

From 2011:

Two weeks ago, the Environmental Protection Agency finalized a rule that subjects dairy producers to the Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure program, which was created in 1970 to prevent oil discharges in navigable waters or near shorelines. Naturally, it usually applies to oil and natural gas outfits. But the EPA has discovered that milk contains “a percentage of animal fat, which is a non-petroleum oil,” as the agency put it in the Federal Register.

I agree completely. Mine need cleaning out. Do you think the waiting list is long? (sarc)

Eventually they will just claim authority over all matter and energy. Actually, come to think about it, they already have.

The gov’t wants to prevent livestock from contacting all waterways so there are some programs that ‘cover’ the cost of fencing. To do my land would cost 20K, which I would have to spend up front and be reimbursed by the government. Looks easy.... but I have to sign a paper allowing ANY agency, fed, state or local, permission to come on my property at any time without advance notice.
The 20K they would pay me is ‘unearned income’ and will be taxed.
Decided to pass on the deal, even though in a few years it will be mandatory and the reimbursement won’t be there. Just don’t trust the the government, especially at the local level..Scoundrels, all.

In the mid 1990’s we lived in Wisconsin and a new school was built. The landscape grading was not complete and it had just rained. I noticed a state EPA truck, forget what the actual name of the dept is, next to a puddle on the side of the road. The person was writting on a clipboard while a canoe was in the puddle! True story.

Leftists only respect “laws” that they agree with or have enacted.

Actually, they expect others to respect their laws, not them.

I had personal experience with this a few years ago when I bought a lot with a creek flowing through it and built my retirement home on it. When the contractor failed to clear the brush out of this creek after I had paid him to clear the entire lot and I demanded that he do so, he told me the creek was “Federal Wetlands” and the EPA would have his building license revoked if he touched it.

As the creek was nothing but a snake and rat infested blackberry thicket, I told the contractor I had no intention of keeping this rat and snake infested thicket in my yard for my grandkids to play in and I’d clean it out myself. He then told me the EPA had aerial photos of all properties with Federal Wetlands on them and EPA had a large department of Federal Employees whose job was to compare past aerial photos with current aerial photos and they had better match or an EPA agent would come knocking on my door, and if I cleared that creek, I’d soon find out the EPA thought more of their rats and snakes than they did of my grandchildren.

Isn’t this a great country we’re leaving to our grandchildren?

Rightists also!

Can't we just follow the original LAW? THE Constitution! Call me a libertarian, just don't call me late for supper.

This is your same EPA that puts the nation at risk by demanding that all ebola patient’s waste products be transported across the country instead of having it immediately destroyed in situ to minimize exposure to the virus.

EPA, another political agency.

Yes, another historical testament the political power of bread and circuses. The Founders were wrong. Our people are too mentally lazy and complacent to earn liberty through self-rule.
