Just weeks after three women passed a rigorous day-long test qualifying them to potentially lead US Marine infantrymen for the first time in history, news came that all three women have been asked to leave the course.
They were physically disqualified from the training last week for falling behind in hikes while carrying loads of upwards of 100 pounds, says Maj. George Flynn, director of the Infantry Officers Course (IOC) at Quantico, Va.

I would note that nurses in any military tend more often to be female. They are not on the front line but may be in a mobile unit

.........so who gives you the license to “question” a “standard” put in place by a 200+ year old combat organization that most think is the world’s premier fighting force.
You appear to be frustrated that some freepers question your “conservative” credentials but you have no similar or apparent reticence to question the US Marine Corp on whether or not it’s important to lift 124lbs in combat? Basically, it seems you get to ask questions but no one else.
When I was 19 or 20, I could rather easily pick up a 200lb man off the ground, I think if I was in combat I would like to see the standard raised! There are not very many 124 lb around. And, it is unarguable that men have to be picked up by other men and carried in combat. Sometimes for miles.
Finally, I suggest you read my other comment on this thread about women in combat before you attack what I’m saying.

I'm sure the Commander-In-Chief and the SecDef will get the training Commander's and his NCO's heads on straight quickly and make sure this doesn't happen again. No doubt the failed, oops, I mean, discriminated against ladies will be back in the course and complete it with flying colors next time... after the soon revised sexual "normalization" of the standards, of course.
It's only fair.
And, I don’t question any combat experience you have or you.
But, the “facts” about combat fatalities between the services are undeniable.

I was Navy but was served with the Marines for 4 years.
Navy experience does not translate to Marine Corps expertise. Their job is much different than a sailor’s.
They don’t leave men behind and your life might depend on your buddy’s ability to pick you up and carry you to safety. They also need to carry a combat load plus, and be able to fight. Their requirements are not meant to exclude people, they are in place so they can do their job.
I was a sailor, and remained one, but spending 4 years with the Corps left me for a deep respect and admiration for my green brothers. Leave them alone and let them do their job.
Respectfully, you are ignorant of what you speak. These women, at their very peak of fitness, met the minimum standard. Of course everyone needs to carry the same load in order to arrive equally prepared for combat. If they don’t pack 100% of the necessary gear, they die. The Actual combat standard speed is “faster”. They were slower than the least competent marine in front of them. Nothing at all to do with their vaginas. The idea that women must be fit into combat leadership positions is not in any way a conservative idea. Combat should be the realm of the combat capable.
These folks have been watching too many Hollywood movies where there’s always a female who kicks all the guys’ asses.
Less than a minute ago, I was flipping through channels and just like you said, there was a female beating up the men.

My son is a corpsman and was deployed on a MEU. At 6’2” 180, he said he felt like a midget. The “average” Marine weighed 170, but the recon and weps were half again as big. He got to carry all the guys in his squads— by himself. He did all the training that they had even though it wasn’t required. He enjoyed it, especially the heavy weapons, but it tears a body up—literally.

IOC occurs at the same camp, different program, IOC ain’t TBS.
