Politics 2014 Election McConnell: No Shutdowns, No Full Obamacare Repeal
Jay Newton-Small/Hazard, KY @JNSmall

Sen. Mitch McConnell was giddy... Kentuckian... TIMEs interview ...
Notably, a full repeal of Obamacare was not on his mind...
...
... get America back to work ... Keystone XL pipeline ... medical device tax ... 40-hour work week ... individual mandate ... bipartisan majority in the Senate
... agree on with the President ... comprehensive tax reform and trade agreements
... international trade
... nuclear option? ...well discuss that...
...
... immigration reform? Were going to discuss...
What if ... executive action ... immigration? ... funding process. ... a budget ... appropriations bills.
... a government shutdown? ... you re-pass it.
... possibility of a government shutdown?
No. There is no possibility of a government shutdown. Remember me? Im the guy that gets us out of government shutdowns. (He laughs.)
...
...
So, in 2016, whats your top priority?
Well, itll be to keep the majority, of course.

LMAO.
Good statements from Mitch!
What matters is what is done, not said. Not that I expect much from him LOL!
Pass a conservative budget and then dare the President to veto and be responsible for the shutdown.
This man needs to learn to not answer stupid questions. All he is doing is providing the liberal media with their handpicked headlines.
He heard, but he is not listening. Even mentioned in his speech about people outside of Kentucky trying to tell him how to do his job. They didn't elect you Mitch, they voted for the Republican.....
Cruz for majority leader!
People will have to show up in front of the Capitol, I guess.
************
We’ve already done that again and again through Tea Party rallies, one of which was a massiviely attended event. The only thing the GOP is dedicated to is the status quo.
No one is surprised. John McCain will be soiling himself to reach across the aisle and John Boehner will cry himself to death (we hope) begging Dems to compromise with him. They finally have what they wanted... the power to expand Big Gov. their way. I can’t wait. /s
Everyone needs to get behind Cruz.
When the RINOs win their natural inclination is to emulate the Democrats by losing.
Question: he’s cited as saying something about the individual mandate. Did he say they were going to try to get rid of it?
If so, Obamacare collapses under it’s own weight. Thats part of the reason why we were all upset that Roberts upheld it.
Getting rid of the individual mandate is a poison pill thats just as good as a full repeal (which will be vetoed), just takes a little longer and really cements in place the evidence that socialized medicine doesn’t work by inflicting some pain (thinknof it as a good spanking for Dem-leaning voters) So may actually be more beneficial in the long term as a deterrent against trying something like this again.
Just saying.
I am in a (huge) minority on this site saying this, but I do not believe repealing Obamacare is the answer.
What we need is to fix it. Millions of people are now covered under Obamacare.
Some, would not be otherwise covered.
Don’t chase away voters, that way. The GOP needs to reach them. Reach them.
Fix Obamacare.
Now granted I’ve been told (even by the owner of this site) that my opinion is in the minority. I am not looking for an argument with this. If I get one in fact, I may been to ask the mod to purge this post.
I am not trying to tempt fate, or to provoke an argument with anyone.
All I am saying is, fix it. Don’t end it.
At least in this minority view.
McConnell and Boehner have got to go.
He and Bonehead have to be removed from leadership if this election is going to mean anything.
And so you see... The democrats are still going to be in control. McConnell, Boehner, McCain make it so.
And conservatives thought they had won.
Well it didn’t take very long for McConnell to try and secure DEFEAT, Can we have President Cruz as Majority Leader instead?? It would be a good opportunity to demonstrate his leadership qualities before he is Elected President in 2 years.
I want repeal of Obamacare...but I don’t want us to spin our wheels until we have the Presidency... it’s wasted effort otherwise.
We need to concentrate on the pipeline... on removing funding on this upcoming amnesty, there are plenty of things we can do to help this country... sending all types of legislation to his desk and let him veto....reign in the EPA... hold hearings on the IRS matter, block judges, etc.
Repealing Obamacare is a non starter, as the President would never sign it.
And this is exactly why conservatives “throw away” our votes or do not go to the polls...
I am bookmarking this post so when the ‘get out the republican vote’ meme and trolls start up again about how a republican is better than a Hillary Whitehouse...
Well, honestly Hank I don’t see much difference anymore.
So in the words of our future Madame President: “What difference does it make?”
Right on.
And bring back American jobs.
That is how we’ll win the presidency, and maintain a strong GOP into the future.
American jobs.
NOBODY is currently doing a single thing, about the vanishing American job.
Bring them back. That is an issue people really care about.
Jobs.
He doesn’t need to sign it. It just needs to get to his desk for a veto.
What ever happened to the idea of a congressional override of a veto?
No need to repeal, just de-fund everything about it.
