It will be the person that has a solid support from

conservatives, independents, common sense Americans.

Perry is essentially copying Scott Walker. This could be interesting. Think about it.

You have:

Moderate governors: Krispy, Kasich

More conservative governors: Perry, Walker

Even more conservative senators: Paul, Cruz

Not sure we have seen something like that before. Perry’s main opponent for a similar vote share would appear to be Walker, so perhaps he’s trying to plunder Cruz/Paul for votes. I don’t think it will work.

Rick, you are really putting your neck out for that promise.

And, I'm sorry, Huckabee WON'T win.

I agree with this completely.

3 sitting US senators have been elected President, all were incompetent or worse. Being a chief executive and being a bullish*t artist are different skill sets.

Even losing Presidential candidates sitting in the Senate have been poor - McGovern, Dole, Kerry, McCain.

A governor or a flag officer would be a much better choice than Senator Anybody.

Jury out?? Hardly. He won the title long ago.

Nice try Rick, but Obama already has it locked up.

Hands down he’s the worst President in our nation’s history.

IMO, Bill Clinton takes second for being a common thug criminal

Carter, picks up the slot left open by Clinton, third or second.

If you take Johnson as well, you’re looking at fifty years of Democrat Presidents who were absolutely despicable.

What a track record the Democrats have.

Then you get some of our wankers who couldn’t get out of their own way, let alone the nation’s.

I don’t necessarily agree with Perry, but I could live with a governor, as long as they are a conservative.

Pence, Palin, Jindal....

Works for me.

I like a governor better for president than a Senator. Senators are preening peacocks, who make speeches, but don’t really lead a group of people. My first choice is Walker for president, who appoints Cruz to the Supreme Court.

While I would vote for Perry if he was nominated, I would not vote to nominate him. A good government could be formed around Cruze, Carson, Lee, Bolton, Gingrich, and Sessions. Don’t see a governor in there anywhere.

All other qualifications being equal, I would prefer a governor over a senator because of the executive experience.

In reality candidates for president don’t have the exact same qualifications, so being a senator or governor probably wouldn’t be a tie breaker.

Not to worry, the messenger is safe. However Perry is probably right. After all “The Best List” ain't exactly running over with best presidents that came directly to the Oval Office from the Senate. I think Obama, Kennedy and Harding are the only three that moved direct to the Presidency from the Senate. For damn sure no BEST on that list.

I believe the one person on the Gop- side who would cause more problems for the conservatives in 2015/2016 (like his dad) will be Paul from Kentucky. He will call out his dad’s little army. He doesn’t like Cruz. I have watched him flip flop back and forth to align on issues with McCain and Schumer. I hope he gets knocked out early.
