In the passage, Obama also reveals that he personally feels patriotic resentment when he sees Mexican flags at immigration rallies.
Native-born Americans suspect that it is they, and not the immigrant, who are being forced to adapt to social changes caused by migration, he said.
And if Im honest with myself, I must admit that Im not entirely immune to such nativist sentiments, Obama wrote. When I see Mexican flags waved at pro-immigration demonstrations, I sometimes feel a flush of patriotic resentment. When Im forced to use a translator to communicate with the guy fixing my car, I feel a certain frustration.
Obamas frank statements written in 2006, he was eying a run for the presidency.
President Barack Obama declared that an influx of illegal immigrants will harm the wages of blue-collar Americans and put strains on an already overburdened safety net.
[T]heres no denying that many blacks share the same anxieties as many whites about the wave of illegal immigration flooding our Southern bordera sense that whats happening now is fundamentally different from what has gone on before, then-Senator Obama wrote in his 2006 autobiography, The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream.
Not all these fears are irrational, he wrote.
The number of immigrants added to the labor force every year is of a magnitude not seen in this country for over a century, Obama noted. If this huge influx of mostly low-skill workers provides some benefits to the economy as a wholeespecially by keeping our workforce young, in contrast to an increasingly geriatric Europe and Japanit also threatens to depress

This seems to me to be a Bill Ayers written part of the book
These people have no principles. They say and do whatever is expedient at the moment.
Native-born Americans suspect that it is they, and not the immigrant, who are being forced to adapt to social changes caused by migration, he said.
Certainly happened here in NJ; many job listing openly require fluency in Spanish.
“”And if Im honest with myself, I must admit that Im not entirely immune to such nativist sentiments, Obama wrote””
Obama will hold a press conference today and state he just heard about what had been written in his book and he is mad as hell about it.
“This seems to me to be a Bill Ayers written part of the book.”
I had the same thought, Obama is just reading Ayers, with passion but no thought. OTOH, this is the type of point a communist like Ayers can flip 180* in mid-sentence without blinking.
Like the commies in 1941 flipping from loving Hitler to hating him literally over night.
BOOM!
even the idiot Obola knows the truth!
Here is a much better analysis of who actually wrote Obama’s “Audacity of Hope”. Some Bill Ayers but it is also a lot of stump speeches which were written by various people. IOW lazy arse Hussein copy and pasted into book form his stump speeches

But Barry solved that problem, he’s damn near destroyed the blue collar middle class in this country. Now, “what difference does it make”?
but he’s “grown in office” and is now much wiser!
/sarc
Then Ayers did the plagiarism, since Obama was too lazy and stoned to do ANYTHING then.
I’m convinced by Cashill’s work comparing key word/phrase usage. To me, it’s as valid as DNA.
This applies to offshoring also.
Lying SOS.
This traitor never felt a “flush” of anything patriotic in his entire miserable life.
He was right in what he said, “Illegal Immigration WILL hurt blue collar Americans” and he could give a rats behind.
Are you real sure he wrote the book or was that someone else’s ideas on the American worker?

Me tooand I am in that business!
Glad to hear that. It was very convincing to me, the repetition of so many very rare and uncommon phrases between Ayers work and “Obama’s” bio.
