Libertarians and Obama's Immigration Plan
Huffington Post ^ | 11/21/14 | John A. Tures

It's becoming clear to political observers that libertarians are emerging as a key swing vote, if not an official party. Republicans may have won a number of close races by appealing to these libertarians, so their views on policy cannot be ignored.

Figuring out those libertarian views on immigration are therefore very important in the wake of President Barack Obama's primetime speech announcing his executive order on immigration.

So I contacted Alex Nowrasteh for that policy perspective. He's the immigration policy analyst for the Cato Institute's Center for Global Liberty and Prosperity. We met at the Association for Private Enterprise Education annual meeting in Las Vegas in the Spring of 2014.

Yeah so does Alex favor monarchy and the balkanization of the USA or not?

As you can see, Libertarians are more supportive of the President's idea, but not his methods. Both parties would do well to consider their views, a possible compromise that could end the gridlock on immigration.

A blog-pimping libertarian pushing Zero's tyrannical amnesty -- this has to be a new low.

I saw some libertarians talking about Obama’s executive order last night.

They were OK with it aside from the fact that he didn’t legalize drugs at the same time.

Blog pimp amnesty troll alert!

Q. What is your reaction to the executive order. Is it a good plan?
A. Viewed narrowly from the policy perspective only, the President’s executive order improves policy, will lead to wage and economic growth, and decreases the humanitarian harm done by our restrictive immigration policy.

As Joseph Stalin might say, “how many divisions do they have?”

I think most Libertarians are against illegal immigration in Colorado, actually they are against excessive government. It looks like an attack against those who were against the pResident and for freedom.

I was over at EBay earlier this morning browsing around. I don’t know why this occurred to me, but I thought it would be a good thing for the sellers there if we put our political leanings after our screen names.

DoughtyOne(D) would mean you should get a save the planet discount
DoughtyOne(R) would mean full price, because I’d actually pay
DoughtyOne(L) would mean they didn’t have to send the merchandise, because the buyer wouldn’t remember the next morning anyway

It seems to me that a lot of “libertarians” are merely back-door, or covert, infiltrators into the GOP. If the GOP has to (further) pander to leftist policies to get their support, who needs ‘em?

Libertarians are nothing more than liberals who like guns and don't want to pay taxes. Anarchy is the ONLY possible outcome if libertarian policies were implemented.
