Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) has a person in mind to replace outgoing Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel: Joe Lieberman.
Cruz floated the former Connecticut independent senator as a strong option to succeed Hagel, who announced his resignation earlier Monday. President Barack Obama has not yet named a proposed replacement.
One strong option would be former Sen. Joe Lieberman, a member of the presidents own party with deep experience and unshakable commitment to the security of the United States, Cruz said. I urge the president to give him full and fair consideration for this critical position.(continued)

Lieberman doesn’t have a hate-on for Israel either.

Joe’s got more brains than the entire Obuma administration combined.
To: Crazieman
That right there disqualifies him for the Obama/Jarrett administration.

Yep. If Lieberman isn’t solid on anything else, he would probably be a strong defender of Israel.

Cruz is doing this to make them look bad, because they are bad. Cruz knows there are better choices but this exposes Obama.

S---- Joe Lieberman.
You do get what he's doing, don't you? He is recommending the right choice the same way E.J. Dionne tells us to nominate Jeb Bush, as if he has our best interests at heart.

Too bad Lieberman wasn’t SecDef in 1983 instead of the self-hating dochebag Caspar Weinberger, we might have ended Islamic Jihad before it got off the ground

Joe Lieberman is probably one of the most sage Senators of either party that has served since the passing of Daniel Patrick Moynihan. And the interesting thing is, he could no longer abide with the majority of the Democrats on either policy or tactics.
Senator Cruz is just pranking the Democrats, reminding them of what they used to be.
Do not be too surprised if the Current Regime tries to recruit Colin Powell. Not sure, however that General Powell wants to stick his head into that noose.
