It started with a simple request "will you just walk on the sidewalk?" Forty-five seconds later, Michael Brown lay sprawled on the street, shot dead by a police officer who had never before fired his gun in the line of duty.
And as he drove away from the 18-year-old's body, heading to the Ferguson police station to wash Brown's blood from his hands and surrender his gun, all Officer Darren Wilson could think was, "I'm just kind of in shock of what just happened. I really didn't believe it."
Those were the words he shared with a grand jury. And late Monday, Wilson's explanation of that deadly day in early August became public for the first time, in a small part of an enormous trove of documents released by St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert McCulloch.
Thousands of pages of police interviews, autopsy reports and secret testimony including Wilson's were made public after McCulloch announced the grand jury's decision not to indict Wilson in Brown's death.
Until late Monday, Wilson's voice had remained silent, and the general story line went largely unchallenged: White police officer shoots unarmed young black man trying to surrender on a summer day in a St. Louis suburb.
But on Monday, Wilson's terror and panic were plain to see in 90 pages of his testimony before the grand jury on Sept. 16 and an 18-page interview with detectives that was recorded Aug. 10, the day after Brown's death.

Surprised to find a well written, balanced account in the LA Times. Clearly the grand jury made the right decision.

Not exactly well balanced as Post #16 above observes...
It really just infuriates me.
They need more stores to burn to have something to report.
They say that Brown was larger than the 6’4” Wilson??? Wilson is like 5’10” and 160-180lbs from the look of him.
That misleading statement and the failure to mention the robbery make this article unworthy of publication.
Proof that Whites are intelligent.
(((
Such a silly statement. Brown attacked Wilson because he was a lawless thug. There are stupid white thugs, as well.
They sound just like Muzzies.
“RE: I hate journalists that only give part of the story. They will keep this mess going by their intentional omissions.”

I have said many, many times that the WORST liars are those who NEVER LIE! What I mean is that they never say anything that could technically be called making a statement that they know is literally false which is my definition of a lie. What they do is leave out things which could convey a truth which they don’t want to reveal or say things which, while technically true, leave the listener with a false impression. This kind of thing seems to be rampant in modern “journalism”. Then there is pure carelessness or ignorance which is so often obvious. I was reading an online report a little while ago about Ferguson in which it was said that police had seized a “45MM automatic handgun”. That would be a handgun with a caliber of approximately 1.77 meaning a bore diameter of over one and three quarters inch capable of fully automatic fire. I suspect if such a thing actually existed it would require someone maybe twenty feet tall and weighing three or four thousand pounds to fire it without injuring the user.
I wonder how many of these writers could even be made to understand how different a “45mm AUTOMATIC handgun” would be from a real world 45 CALIBRE SEMIautomatic handgun which is apparently what they meant to refer to.
I’ve been trying to find Wilson’s official height and weight, but so far haven’t. I originally thought he was smaller in both measurements, so I wanted to double check that assessment. I don’t want to make assumptions. I thought it would be easy enough to find the info, but so far haven’t turned up anything to dispute the 6’4” that the LA Times has given.
Deliberately withholding relevant information.
My SIL believes in demon possession. On one of his tours in Iraq, he was part of a team that arrested a ‘family man’ who protested his innocence. He was still protesting his innocence as my SIL came up the stairs from a basement that had various body parts - arms, legs, heads - hanging from the ceiling. When my SIL said that, the innocent family man stopped talking, looked at him, and smiled...and my SIL said his eyes were like the entrance of hell itself.
A few months later, he had the same sort of experience while guarding a man accused of eating the flesh of those he killed. The man was chained up, but he looked at my SIL and smiled...and hell was in his eyes.
Me? I believe the Bible and Jesus. There are demons, and they possess some. Probably more than we realize.
The First 48 - my thoughts exactly! I could see if there was no proof to back up Wilson, but those TV shows display it for all to see!
Sadly, he will have to move. Maybe to a state such as TX in which you DO NOT mess around with the police.
Nope, when a stupid white person exits the gene pool via cop, there is no national coverage and no riots.
“There are demons, and they possess some. Probably more than we realize.”...
I’ve that of odumbo all along. He indeed is EVIL!
Even in the face of the facts, the story line will still be what they believe.
What’s that on his forehead?
Devil horns?
