As a private pilot I actually agree (one of the few times I agree with the FAA on matters of general aviation). First they are talking about experimental class air craft which haven’t undergone the full rigorous airworthiness testing as production craft. Second, they are talking about pilots who may have less flight time and surely less time flying in formation than military pilots. And third, flying over a stadium with 80k+ attendees seems like a risk no matter the class or skill level.
If you want to see general aviation rights be set back even more than they have been in the past 15 years wait until one of these planes takes out a few thousand people in a crash.
