Theorizing that Hal Ogen was posting that as a joking/rhetorical question...
When it comes down to it, we are all ultimately responsible for our own safety, security, and well-being.
I feel bad when friends, coworkers, classmates, or whomever feel police must/will provide protection.
As mentioned, the Supreme Court has determined police are under no such commitment.
