Someone should have asked the neighbor “What if it were YOUR property? Would that make it alright?”
The mob has inadvertently stumbled on a message of salvation to the criminal underclass of the "people of color"
Exactly. The Heritage Foundation has looked at dependency, crime, etc....and the thuggish behavior has to do with a destroyed FAMILY structure--and NOT race.
To put it another way: white people and black people become thugs, criminals, wards of the state and prone to bad behavior when their families are not intact. Mom and dad need to be home and mom and dad need to be raising their children.
The welfare state has tried to replace the family, and it cannot.
I recall reading, I believe it was a book from Dr. Thomas Sowell, that in the 1950s and 60s, before the explosion that was LBJ's stupid "Great Society", that BLACK families were more stable and there was lower criminal behavior in them than in WHITE families; Sowell was looking at particular places and populations.
The black families were whole--while the white families were not.
God's plan is for a mom and a dad to raise children. Of course it can't always be that way--but that is the ideal.
Far, far from the ideal is the government as a daddy.
Somewhere it says that the delusion would be so strong that it would effect the elect.
The problem with getting that message out is the thuggish behavior is seen as distinctly black culture, so calling it out is considered racist. Catch 22.
I think a lot of the protesters and rioters have been raised with no father or other authority figures present in single parent or no parent families. Some of these so-called families do not mention or explain why their members have different surnames and relationships or if a marriage is present.
Hillary has advocated "it takes a village to raise a child", not a two parent family with a mom and dad in a normal loving caring authoritative relationship. Having down played these benefits of a real family and negated the responsibility and accountability of a father to raise his children to be productive members of society, one is seeing the product of what we used to call "the broken family".
Finally, the government has tried to replace the lack of the family through welfare and other programs which has led us to where we are. No wonder these people protest, riot, and rebuke authority. They never received the love, values, and other benefits a real family can provide.
We are rapidly becoming a society composed of broken families. Which is why our society is in an a breakdown mode.
According to what he observed, most white people weren't very intelligent, and many black people he knew were far smarter. The answer, he concluded, is that whites simply used their status as members of the Great White Supremacy (my term) to take those jobs meant for black people.
I was tempted to laugh after reading the screed, but apparently that's what many black people believe. So if you take something from someone who didn't deserve it in the first place, it's not really stealing according to those people. You probably deserve that thing.
There are some who would argue that the unprecedented decline in 2 parent families is a result of easily obtained permanent welfare which, to a certain extent, penalizes marriage and encourages child bearing.
The breakdown in the family leads to similar effects regardless of race.
This is one of those things that belies charges of direct racism being the culprit. It is not the poverty in finances that in general causes so many lives to go awry, but the poverty in families. While Trayvon Martin is responsible for his actions, he hardly had a chance...not because of his skin color, but because of his deprivation of family. ...at the end he didn’t have any parents at all in any meaningful sense.
“1) Heres Williams roadmap out of poverty: Complete high school; get a job, any kind of a job; get married before having children; and be a law-abiding citizen. Among both black and white Americans so described, the poverty rate is in the single digits.”
Incarceration rate is pretty low too.
Yep, that’s it. We are still affected by the strong delusion. Even if it is to just try and explain it to other people.
