Yet I ran into amazing bias when I married right after college to a man I met in college. I was told by women in their 30s and 40s that I had to define myself, explore relationships (including sexually), establish my career - THEN I could get married. They outright told me I was too young to marry at 23.

Were these women who, themselves, had taken that advice, held off marriage until their 30's, and then managed to find a good man to marry?

Or were they bitter, single feminists who wanted to create another bitter, single feminist to recruit to their ranks?

Some were married in their 30s, a few never married but a decade older.
What was tragicomic was when I was pregnant with my first in my mid-20s, being told by more than one feminist that I was too young, not ready and too early in my career. I said I’d been married for several years, had an employed spouse and had a house - what else did I need? Or was I supposed to wait until I was their age to try to get pregnant and married, with the clock running out? These were women in the STEM fields, engineering and computer science.
Ironically, women on the assembly line and warehouse were very supportive - a married woman with a kid on the way was normal, healthy, wonderful, etc, as long as I didn’t throw up in the clean room.
