Looking for a job? If you're a programmer or computer science grad, there are plenty of jobs for you in Israel, said Meir Brand, head of Google's Israel office.
I can tell you that there is a worldwide shortage of qualified people in these areas, and Israel is feeling this as well, Brand told an audience at Haifa University, at an event sponsored by the Israel Lottery.
The Lottery raises money for education, and Brand's message for listeners was that the government needed to do more to train workers for the technology jobs of tomorrow.....

I did seriously consider it at one point in my life and almost made that choice. I have friends that have and later moved back to the US. I have other friends who are still there. For me its the road not chosen, and I am not changing at this point in my life.
I sill love Israel, it is the crowning jewel of the Middle East. Saving my money for a visit in a few years.

This sounds too close to being a justification for guest worker fraud. It gets harder and harder to believe when someone talks about shortages when they advocate for surpluses.
On the other hand, if they're primarily wanting to fill those with talent within Israel first(such as through training programs), then there's nothing wrong.
Will they hire displaced American citizens?
I think it depends on the company, their situation and the need.
