Umm, this time it appears that he decided to resist arrest. He weighs 400lbs. As a 340lb man, I can tell you that if I don’t want to go somewhere, it’s going to take quite a few people to make me, and he was younger and healthier than I am.
Me too. I did a double-take when I saw the headline. Jerry's nearly always a predictable pander bear when it comes to racial issues, identifying with the "victims." This seems to be progress.
Are blacks only supposed to wear the tee shirt ... Or only white?
I am also aware he has been arrested for the same offense in the past, I believe the count was 8 times.
My issue with this particular case is, why did the cops decide to use physical force to take him into custody in the first place?
Why take him into custody for this offense? I've not seen anything reported that he was wanted on outstanding arrest warrants.
Some other shirt logos for the messengers, should they choose to want to make a statement about typical urban black men:
“I can’t obey the law”
“My reading skills are remedial”
“I’m afraid to act white and succeed”
“We’re the knockout game players”
“Blacks can be racist, but others aren’t allowed”
“Cracka will never be called ‘The C Word’”
“I demand respect, but don’t earn it”
“All your merchandise is belong to me”
“Not a thug, an aspiring rapper”
“In training for rioting as an Olympic sport”
Feel free to add your own suggestions.
Had he simply been obeying the law he’d be alive today. That’s the one fact that a great many people refuse to acknowledge. Same with Michael Brown and many others who have died at the hands of police.
FYI, in my youth I had a few run-ins with the law. Nothing serious or violent, but once I had a cop draw down on me. I made no sudden movements, but moved very slowly and showed him open empty hands and obeyed his every command. No shots were fired. No choke holds needed. No resultant tragic death.
In reality, what you said should be the end of the story, but here are the details that you seek.
The local shop owners were complaining that they were losing sales to this guy selling untaxed cigs on the sidewalk in front of their stores. The cops got the complaint and responded. Backup, and supervisors were called. When everyone was in place, they approached the perp. When confronted, he resisted. Now the choice is to take the law into their own hands and simply walk away, or take the guy into custody.
There was no meeting or debate, but the decision was made to take the guy in. Since he was resisting, the cop closest to him relied on his training to get the perp on the ground. Now it's true that no pillow was offered, and our man was made uncomfortable while being cuffed but we didn't see him beaten or otherwise abused. He was simply held in place until he could be restrained. The black woman supervisor maintains that every action was by the book, as do the rest of the cops and 40 or so witnesses. The fact that the perp had serious health issues not caused by the takedown was not on the radar until he stopped breathing.
If someone is able to state that they can’t breathe, aren’t they still breathing? Just sayin........
I want one conservative athlete to wear a shirt saying, “Abortion is Murder.” That would force an end to all “political statements” as they would call it.
“Just wonder if there is some issues after serving 4 tour of duties in Afghanistan”
After 4 tours, he’s probably tired of people a) telling him what to do, and b) trying to kill him. So remember, you’re close enough to read the sign.
Get some help, Justin.
You're soul is flammable and there you are playing with matches and gasoline.
These six [things] doth the Lord hate: yea, seven [are] an abomination unto him:
A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
A heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
A false witness [that] speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
--Proverbs 6:16-19
When he used to be on ABC ages ago (I think on 20 20) he would occasionally be rational. Then he went on a long leftist streak and I gave up on him. This sounds like a small return to those rational days of old. I don’t concern myself too much over this however. It’s like seeing the rare odd conservative viewpoint in a New York Times article. Nice but it won’t be changing the direction big media is heading.
Nor do I. It's just a curiosity. He's still Ailse's worst hire ever, except for possibly blatant liberal Paula Zahn.
This is exactly what Obama and company want. Foment a race war. The exact opposite is needed. That is why the Dems hate the likes of Herman Cain, Tim Scott and Allan West.
