They don’t seem angry at the cop killer.

There were and are genuine issues of police abuse, specifically with these damn SWAT teams, but the overwhelming majority of police officers do a difficult, dangerous, and thankless job...

Bump.

And I lay the primary blame on the shoulders of that damn racist bastard in the White House and his damn racist acolytes...

Bump.

No matter what, the cops will STILL respond to the call for help and put themselves in danger, they do it every day. Yes, there ARE more dangerous jobs but being a police officer and having someone wait to shoot you raises that danger lever to EXTREME.

Perhaps responding to the call for help will begin to take even longer than previously as more police officers a shot.

After Giuliani was elected, the police began enforcing laws more stringently.

What I find interesting is the part that Bratton played cleaning up NYC after Dinkins. Wonder if Bratton can pull a repeat now. I think not.

The man is aging, as he has 44 yrs in NYPD, so that makes him well into his sixties. However, he needs to be rid of that communist mayor so he can get the right replacement when he retires.

Hey Bed Sty, got a problem and need a Cop, call a Gang Banger. You reap what you sow. Enjoy your day.

The problem is that, out of experience, too many people fear the cops more than the gang bangers.

Of course they don’t all agree with hating the cops. But those who don’t need to speak up and loudly say that violent anti-cop rhetoric and advocacy has consequences and will not be tolerated in their community.

The cops pulling out of certain communities might edge that realization along a little bit, to make the point clear for everyone who might be sitting on the fence or who might not want to get involved.

To have a safe and vibrant community, people have to get involved. They can’t just take things for granted. Good policing requires community support and involvement.

I was really surprised and even commented to Mr Kitty how old Bratton looked. He doesn’t have the easiest of jobs.

It’s just common sense, if he has been on the force 44 years, and he had to be at least 20 or 21 after BLET, when he joined the force. so that makes him at least 65 or more...depending on age he joined the NYPD. He may have done the military at that time, as Vietnam was going on and the draft...so he could be older by three or more years.

Yes, but you have it wrong; Obama does the bidding of those that own the media. He came into office thinking he would emancipate Black America; instead he supported “gay marriage” (which he opposed publicly a short time before) and granted amnesty to the Hispanics that are displacing Black America in particular.

Many have commented that Obama hasn’t seemed very enthusiastic about being president for some time; I believe that is the reflection of it dawning on him that he was just the front man of a group with very different goals than his, unto which he is beholden.

Giuliani was a no-nonsense mayor who directed police to stop ignoring petty crimes (correctly believing that the guy jumping a turnstyle or tagging walls with spraypaint would have warrants for more serious crimes like robbery or rape); Bloomberg continued those policies to keep the city a place where businesses could operate and taxpayers could live. I just don’t see this continuing under a mayor that is in open opposition to the police (or at least openly supportive of those opposing them).
