...

Stanford announced that Shaw, 51, was to join the school’s Department of Religious Studies in July as a dean and professor of religious studies, moving to the school from Grace Cathedral in San Francisco. At Grace Cathedral, Shaw was not only the first woman to head the church, but the first openly lesbian dean.

Shaw, hailed as a “champion within the LGBT community” by the Palo Alto Online, was a founding member of the Chicago Consultation, a think tank made up of Anglican and Episcopal bishops, clergy, and lay people who support the full inclusion of LGBT people into the church and the worldwide Anglican Communion.

...

In her interview with the Palo Alto Online, Shaw, who says she leads a “dual life as a scholar and a priest,” announced that she will be teaching a class on empathy in the upcoming semester in an attempt to “almost train ourselves to begin to walk in another’s shoes,” which she called the “great wonder of a liberal arts or humanities education.”

Shaw said that greatest current crisis is “climate change” and as a proponent of “practical religion,” everyone should work to raise awareness of the issue and bring change on a local, national, or global front.

This is the face of ruling class religion, at least for one important faction of the ruling class.

Liberals need to exorcise God, because God is judgmental and doesn’t approve of their values and lifestyle choices.

In other news, art museums will be focusing less on art and more on religion.

See, it all balances out in the end.

For this woman, the greatest moral challenge of our time isn’t abortion, its the mythical “climate change” hoax.

C02 is more urgent than unborn babies being killed.

And God Is Love.

RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!!!

Churches were created for art, not for religion. Of course! How silly of me to even think otherwise.

The Left is truly a coalition of the mental.

Is homosexuality punishment for something else...

the person or persons did?

Romans 1:1-27 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+1%3A21-27&version=NIV

II Peter 2:2 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=II+Peter+2%3A2&version=NIV

Jude 1:4 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Jude+1%3A4&version=NIV

Romans 1:28,29, 32...

32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death,(BJ) they not only continue to do these very things but also approve(BK) of those who practice them.

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+1&version=NIV

If we know it to be wrong and don’t say something...do we approve and deserve death?

Did Jesus approve the “Old Testament” laws? Yes.

Can he grant forgiveness? Yes.

How do we get forgiveness...Sinnner on the Cross prayer?

Had Jesus’ covenant/Testament gone into effect before his death?...or after...his death?

Hebrews 9:16
For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
Hebrews 9:15-17 (in Context) Hebrews 9 (Whole Chapter) Other Translations

Men and brothers, what shall we do?

37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”(AW)

38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized,(AX) every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.(AY) And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.(AZ) 39 The promise is for you and your children(BA) and for all who are far off(BB)—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

Liberals have taken over the media, educational and government institutions and intimidate through political correctness private organizations and institutions. They are in the process of taking over religious institutions. Why fight the church when you can just take over the church? Liberals are quite clever

Stopped reading at "lesbian." No wonder she thinks what she thinks, she still is not right with God. She is trying to reconcile God's nature to hers. It's the other way around. God will not be reconciled to man, man needs God's reconciliation.

The Episcopal Church in the US can rightly be called post Christian. Like this “priest” Shaw the majority of its clergy are agnostic and don’t believe in the divinity or resurrection of Christ. They control valuable property and endowments and have transformed their “religion” (which was founded by the vile, decadent Henry VIII) into a neo pagan, earth worshipping , pseudo humanistic cabal.

It is such a sad and empty spot for her to be in.

God is not playing the naked authoritarian here... she is. God fights with grace. She’s just narrow. Art... how about that the whole universe including her was intended to be a well beloved piece of art. It’s up to her to accept or refuse.

It did pretty well for a while in spite of (not because of) Henry.

But to tie a church to a country was a mistake. When the country’s mores changes, so did the church’s.

The Lord won’t reject anyone who comes to him but you can’t reject his laws and principles as set in the Bible. Art is wonderful and has its place but Jesus didn’t teach art but the Word of God. If they live with the sin that is a choice but gay marriage is a spiritual abomination and any clergy endorsing it is one as well.

This is the same sort of nonsense the “Emerging Church” was peddling. Of course their idea of “art” was any and all hollywood movies, even designing sermons after them, and, um, Bono.

She and they are free to do that if they want, but they aren’t free to choose the consequences.

True.

I get mad, though, when they peddle this nonsense to young people. If they want to take the broad road to destruction themselves that’s one thing.
