Bill Cosby reportely hires private investigators to dig up dirt on accusers
New York Post ^ | 12/28/2014

Bill Cosby has hired a battalion of private investigators to dig up dirt on his many accusers, The New York Post has learned.

The comedian, fighting an onslaught of accusations that he sexually assaulted more than two dozen women over many years, is paying six-figure fees to private investigators for information that might discredit his alleged victims.

Multiple sources confirmed that Cosby, through his Hollywood attorney Martin Singer, is implementing a scorched-earth strategy in which anything negative in his accusers’ pasts is fair game.

At least one Glendale, Calif.-based firm with a half-dozen former LAPD detectives on staff is muckraking for Cosby, a source said.

First of all, you guys are *way* too invested in this tabloid BS that is (totally) unprovable and something that will never see the inside of a criminal courtroom.

Yes. I, personally, have a problem with witch hunts and mob justice. Too many innocent people are eviscerated and their lives ruined by nothing more than rumor.

Second... one very easy to find reference.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2014/12/05/bill-cosby-calls-sexual-assault-suit-extortion-in-court-papers/

“According to the Los Angeles Times, his attorneys filed papers Thursday in an attempt to stop the suit, claiming Judy Huth took legal action after threatening to sell her story to a tabloid and, recently, failing to get a $250,000 payment from him.”

“Through her lawyer, plaintiff made extortionate claims to Mr. Cosby [through his counsel] about criminal penalties, coupled with ever-increasing demands for a six-figure payday to keep quiet about her long-since-expired claims,” the documents state, according to ABC News.”

And who is knee-deep in this swamp?

Why Gloria Allred. The same feminist tabloid lawyer who brought forward the blonde bimbo to destroy Herman Cain. Just the fact that this trashy woman is *involved* makes me doubt every one of these women’s stories.

http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-gloria-allred-bill-cosby-20141203-story.html

I take accusations of rape seriously. It’s a serious crime.

But I also believe in our justice system and I do believe that people are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

People here are so caught up in the ‘numbers’ of women, that they’re forgetting the multiple false witnesses who came forward in Ferguson right after the shooting.

These sweet little darlings have nothing monetary to gain from this? Allred wants Cosby to pay $100 MILLION to these women. Plus, they can make a ton of money off of selling their stories.

Did he do it? I don’t know.

But there is ZERO evidence that he did anything. Nothing but the word of a bunch of women and too many women have proven that they’re willing to lie about rape to get money - or even just attention.

Remember when Julian Assange was accused of rape and it turned out that they had *consensual* sex without a condom? That was a month-long blow up as he was raked over the coals as a ‘rapist’.

Not one man should have his life and reputation ruined without a guilty verdict.

You can carry on your lynching without me.

And as these investigations start kicking over rocks, don’t be surprised if many/most of these “ladies” are silenced in some way before it gets out they were recruited by the left to discredit Cosby.

It looks like you are the one that follows the tabloids.

Why did you mention Huth and Gloria Allred, which has almost nothing to do with the cases that I cite, Huth just came out and is the least credible.

I talk about the old cases, the police reports, the court settlement for the 2004 rape, and dozens of others.

You seem to be more someone who is trying to change the subject, rather than to get to the bottom of what has been coming out about Cosby, for the last decade.

I wonder why people have become so stupid.

Cosby has many individual women coming forward with claims of rape in the same pattern.

Cosby has sued none of them. I believe one is suing him for defamation.

Cosby now has hired dicks to dig up dirt on them.

And people can't tell if the man is guilty?

Wow.

Yep. And a lot of available, willing ‘victims’ wanting to hang out with ‘stars.’ They didn’t KNOW who he was? they just WILLINGLY went on a ‘date’ with some random black dude? I think not. ALL of his ‘victims’ were In The Biz, in some manner, or dating or related to those in The Biz.

No they weren't, and most were not "dates".

"Andrea Constand. Constand told Ontario police in January 2005 that a year prior, when she was 31, she had visited Cosby at his home in Pennsylvania seeking career advice. (Constand, an Ontario native, worked at the time for Temple University, Cosby's alma mater.) Constand alleges he gave her "herbal" pills for anxiety, then “touched her breasts and vaginal area, rubbed his penis against her hand, and digitally penetrated” her. The Pennsylvania prosecutor who looked into the case has said that while he didn't bring charges because the available evidence was not sufficient, he found Constand "credible" and found Cosby "evasive." After prosecutors declined to charge him, Constand filed a civil suit against Cosby for $150 million; her suit cited, anonymously, 13 other women who alleged that he had sexually assaulted them. (Some of those women, referred to as "Jane Does" in legal language, have since identified themselves publicly and are mentioned below. The identities of Jane Doe witnesses are disclosed to defendants so their testimony can be fairly researched and challenged, but they are not ID'd by name in court or in public records.) Cosby's attorney called Constand's claims "utterly preposterous." The suit was settled for an undisclosed amount in 2006."

More on Constand.

"Then the director of operations for the women's basketball program at Temple University, Constand in 2005 did what no one else had done before: She put her name on paper in a public record and said that Cosby had drugged and raped her."

"Constand and Bill Cosby became friends while she was at Temple, where Cosby is a familiar presence, particularly around the athletic department. He's a member of the Temple Athletics Hall of Fame, having been on the football and track & field teams during his time at the school in the 1960s, and as recently as a few weeks ago he was helping raise money for the gymnastics team.

Constand went to Cosby's home for dinner parties, or sometimes for dinner just between the two of them. They would talk about basketball, her career, other job opportunities, even her spiritual beliefs. In court filings, both sides agree to that. Then, in January 2004, Cosby invited Constand, 30, over to his Cheltenham home. He told her he wanted to "offer her assistance in her pursuit of a different career," according to her lawsuit. She got there about 9 p.m.

What happened next, according to Constant, is outlined in her suit: Constand told Cosby she "was feeling stressed about making her career decision." He offered her three blue pills, calling them herbal medication, and said they would help her relax. When Constand asked if she needed to take all three, Cosby said yes. She took them and started to shake; she felt dizzy and weak. Her limbs went slack and she felt barely conscious."

Misinformed? How?
You are free to believe these ladies.
They are free to report crimes only to the media after decades.
They are free to describe themselves as “supermodels” and “actresses” in their official “I was raped by Bill Cosby” media biographies.
The media is free to publish their one-sided accounts without verification of any kind.
Can Bill Cosby not be free to investigate his accusers?
Can I not be free to encourage it?

you seem to be suggesting the farther left liberal conspiracy against the slighly nearer far left target BC. Do you not also think it is funny the far left is targeting itself during the 6th year of the far left Obama presidency. Do you think that is funny? Why wait until 10 years after BC’s so called conservative pound cake speech, do you think that is even funnier?

For the detectives, the article states that their purpose is muckraking into the personal lives of the witnesses and alleged victims, not proving a conspiracy among them. So the article does not give any support in the direction of the conspiracy theory between the alleged victims and witnesses that you seem to be suggesting.

You are spewing rambling nonsense, that is false, read the thread. for instance the post above yours.

You ignore things like the 2000 police report on a 1998 assault, the 2005 police report on a 2004 rape, you ignore the claim of a 2008 rape which is being investigated, you ignore the 2006 settlement.

You ignore that not all of these women were actresses, or models, although some were successful actresses and one was a super model.

No one has said that Bill can’t investigate the backgrounds of his accusers, don’t you think that he investigated at least 14 of them back in 2005, before settling?

Fifty years in the business, an industry giant, Hugh Hefner’s best friend, “America’s Dad”, yet the people who know him best, who would know the 50 years of rumors and accusations, and who would have seen him in action, are not surprised at all that he is being revealed as a serial rapist over a 45 year period.

We saw Michael Jackson, and Bill Clinton, and others, but I don’t recall ever seeing a man shut out like Cosby is being shut out, by the people who would know, or suspicion the truth of these accusations.

If there were only one or two accusers, yes, or even silence.

If there are 26 or more accusers, and no defense, perhaps he is being compelled to take the low road.

who are you referring to by the purple haired lap dancer?

also BC already settled with one accuser out of court, and in that sense, he is already damaged goods.

“also BC already settled with one accuser out of court, and in that sense, he is already damaged goods.”

Settling is not an admission of guilt.
I think Cosby is guilty of some of these, but one is innocent until proven guilty.
I was just stating the order of attack.

way too invested

—the issues go far beyond tabloids. you are not paying attention. one issue

witch hunts and mob justice

— all discussion is fair under 1A unless slanderous, which in most cases at least BC has chosen not to raise

huth and the Allred cases

— account for only 4 of the 26 and counting accusers, some of whom are exposing their entire lives to this public muckraking for no compensation. are you suggesting the other 23+ accusers are going to use Allred? are you suggesting the other 22+ accusers be regarded with the same level of suspicion as those 4 that you have cherrypicked? the numbers are part of the story.

allred case money

— again what about the other 23+ witnesses and alleged victims who have nothing to do with Allred? and also, if BC is to be stopped (apparently several previous attempts failed if we for sake of argument are to give creedence to some of the alleged victims and witnesses), then money is the best legal way to make sure he gets the messsage by legal means available to civilians. Would you not agree? So the amount of money asked for does not necessarily imply lack of credibility. It can imply strength of resolve. N.B.: the civil court system requires momentary damages to initiate a lawsuit with standing.

I did read the thread.
I have followed the story.
I know there is a long list of accusers.
I know there are more and more each day.
I know some of them say “I said this then,”
Others say “I heard this then,”
Others repeat “it was said and heard here and then.”
I do not know what happened.
I was not personally raped by Bill Cosby.
I do not deign to judge the number of women who continued to date him after they say they were raped by him.
I am not a judge.
I will not judge Bill Cosby for defending his reputation by investigating the wall of “he raped me too” accusers,
who are, to a one,
has-beens of one kind or another,
who, to a one, were silent then and noisy now,
who are, to a one,
destroying Cosby’s reputation, career, and hard-work,
with NO EYE WITNESSES BUT THEMSELVES (as is always the case)
whether he “raped” them or not.
