Obama warns GOP he plans to use veto pen in 2015

HONOLULU (AP) - Warning from President Barack Obama to congressional Republicans: I have a veto pen and, come January, I won't be afraid to use it.

Since taking office in 2009, Obama has only vetoed legislation twice, both in fairly minor circumstances. But with Republicans set to take full control of Congress next year, Obama is losing his last bulwark against a barrage of bills he doesn't like: the Senate.

"I haven't used the veto pen very often since I've been in office," Obama said in an NPR interview airing Monday. "Now, I suspect, there are going to be some times where I've got to pull that pen out."

He added: "I'm going to defend gains that we've made in health care. I'm going to defend gains that we've made on environment and clean air and clean water."

If we had a muscular GOP they would turn the Kenyan monkey’s precious pen sideways and shove it deep up his wazoo.

*IF* we had a muscular GOP.

Obama says: "I'm going to defend gains that we've made in health care."

Huh? Come again? Gains in healthcare?

Obama campaigned as the 2008-12 incarnation of Ozzie and Harriet.

W/ the Obamacare blunder decimating our healthcare system ---
we find out we got stuck w/ Nicolai and Elena Ceaucescu.

Lock and Load folks, it’s going to be real nasty, as this is a warning shot over the bow that he didn’t understand the last election.

Well good. He can finally own it. He won’t have Harry Reid intercepting and sitting on bills. Let the country see his little veto pen.

Yeppers. Let the nice voting public see who the Obama people are and which ones aren't.

Barry, you can stick that pen where the sun don’t shine, for all I care.

The fourth quarter is about to begin.

If I were among the Republican leadership, I'd force Obama to pull out his veto pen more often than he pulls out his golf clubs.

With 752 more days left in office, surely there could be 752 pieces of very popular legislation that Obama would need to veto. The Republicans should paint Obama and the Democrats as the Bolsheviks that he and they are. (Based on what Boehner et al have done since November, I doubt that they will. But they should.)

...he didn’t understand the last election.

Obama doesn't have to. He understands the Republican leadership enough to know saying he will veto is as good as already having vetoed.

Republicans will now start saying we don't have 66 votes, we have to find common ground, reach across the aisle, party of yes, yada yada yada.

They give up before they try instead of following through anyway and letting the process play out. One never knows for sure what might happen, we only know for sure that Republicans are afraid to try.

“If we had a muscular GOP they would turn the Kenyan monkey’s precious pen sideways and shove it deep up his wazoo.”

The NSA and FBI have the goods on the GOP members of Congress. Their mistresses, drug problems, and money problems are used for extortion by the administration. Remember the FBI file incident early in the Clinton administration?

Our GOP representatives are human. After a few years inside the beltway, the succumb to the temptations placed before them. One taste of the forbidden fruit and they are hooked forever. This is why you see strong Christian conservative men and women abandoning their principles, families, friends and constituents after 2-3 election cycles. One cannot live in a corrupt environment for long without becoming corrupted.

It is not a question of the GOP being muscular. McConnell and Boehner have been extremely muscular in neutralizing the Tea Party and conservative base. They were extremely muscular in getting special favors for Wall Street packed into the recent budget bill.

Their impotence in dealing with Obama and the Democrats has only two possible explanations:

1) They are in agreement with the policies
2) They are corrupt and Obama is extorting them

Pretty sure that I’ve never heard another US President threaten his own people. Incomprehensible.... Another word unheard.

Of course he is going to use the Veto, he is no longer covered by his henchman, Sen. Harry Reid, and now stands exposed to the political cross-wind from the renunciation election of 2014. Now, all he has is the still extremely powerful and ever liberal MSM, Judiciary, Tort Lobby, billionaire liberals, Crony Capitalists, three-letter Feral yet Federal agencies and the Educrat education system. Yep, the GOP has him cornered alright, but at least we have a shot at curbing his appointees to merely liberal instead of outright lunatics!

When Perry said something like this, he got indicted. I think this guy needs the full Clinton treatment except this time convicted, removed and hopefully deported.

It's not so much that they're in agreement on specific policies as it is on having policies in general that cause lobbyists to curry favor with Congress through money, hookers, and fawning. When they say they're making the best of a bad bill, what they really mean is getting something for themselves instead of being shut out. That's why they hate conservatives because we want smaller government which means fewer lobbyists which means big drops in money, hookers, and fawning.

The RATS know this and usually take care of their RINO buddies which was the operating model for the '70s when the Republicans were a very content, non-threatening in size minority with essentially permanent seats. When forced into power by conservatives, the RINOs work with their RAT betters to undermine the conservatives which keeps the game going.

This doesn't mean there isn't a corrupting influence from being in Washington for surely there is. You start to see it in a progression of pronouncing it “WaRshington” like the area natives do, stories of having a pal across the aisle, and the clincher—the donning of the round, tortoise-shell glasses. That's the sign they're firmly lost in the depths of the DC cesspool.

McConnell should start by sending all the Bills Harry Reid blocked.

The American people should learn that Harry Reid and the Progressives are the party of NO.

Let Obama veto all of the bills blocked by Harry Reid
