Sedition:
1.incitement of discontent or rebellion against a government.
2.any action, especially in speech or writing, promoting such discontent or rebellion.
Brings blackmail to a new meaning.
What about knowingly paying a bribe to a tax cheat?
This is news? Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have been doing this for decades.
They should have called a meeting with Sharpton in a state where it is legal for one party to record a conversation without the other party’s knowledge. Then carried on a negotiation in which Sharpton was explicit that he was blackmailing them. Then splash the video everywhere.
But businessmen never do such things. They just pay up.
Is’t this the same Al Sharpton that has visited the current occupant at the White House reportedly 84 times?
I agree.
Some cry “treason” but like porn, treason is in the eye of the beholder. Conversely, as you point out, sedition is more plainly defined. And Al is far from being alone in fitting the definition.

Pittsburgh’s police chief is embroiled in controversy over a Facebook photo of him holding a sign that many of his officers reportedly believe accuses them of racism, KDKA-TV reported.
During the city’s First Night activities this week, Police Chief Cameron McLay was getting coffee when an activist group called WWhat’s Up Pittsburgh? got him to hold a sign that reads “I resolve to challenge racism @ work #EndWhiteSilence”:

The silver lining to Al “Tawana Brawley” Sharpton wlaking free and inciting riots is that he warns even the most idealistic whites of the dangers posed to them by blacks.
