My original point, though, is that I only refer to people of the Negro race (fully or partially) as black, not African American.
I have a friend who emigrated from SA, and that’s what he calls himself, but only when telling jokes about Obama and such.
It may have occurred to them as well that those radical Tea Party militia extremists don't like them either. If not, it ought to.
“We should understand, as Mrs. Clinton said, we need to take time to empathize with our enemies. It’s called smart power.”
Perhaps instead we should emulate and imitate our enemies in order to protect ourselves against their irrational phobic hatred of us. Also, did Mrs. Clinton really identify muslims as our enemies?
In the Austrian Legislative Elections of 2013, The Social Democratic Party received 27 percent of the vote and 52 seats; People's Party 24 percent and 47 seats, thus controlling together the majority of the seats. The Freedom Party received 40 seats and 21 percent of the votes, while the Greens received 24 percent but only 12 seats. Two new parties, Stronach and the NEOS, received less than 10 percent of the vote, and 11 and five seats respectively.[67]The Freedom Party is the party fighting against immigration. Unlike other anti-immigrant parties in Europe it appears to have no fascist background. (I use the term in it's technical sense, that is connection with the historic fascist movement of the Nazi's, Franco and Mussolini's parties, and other groups associated with them. I do not use the term as an all purpose lefty insult meaning "people on the right libs disagree with")
Ideology[edit] Under the leadership of Heinz-Christian Strache, the FPÖ has focused on describing itself as a Heimat and social party. This means that the party promotes its role as a guarantor of Austrian identity and social welfare. Economically, it supports regulated liberalism with privatisation and low taxes, combined with support for the welfare state; however, it maintains that it will be impossible to uphold the welfare state if current immigration policies are continued.[62]The present FPÖ has variously been described as right-wing populist,[63] national conservative,[64] "right-conservative",[65] "right-national",[66] and far right.[67][68][69] The party has traditionally been part of the national liberal camp, and generally identifies with a freiheitlich (libertarian) profile.considered her ideology as national conservative.[71]
I hope those two dirtbags learned first hand what terror was in their final moments.
I do the same. I was simply illustrating absurdity by being absurd. The whole hyphnated American thing is beyond annoying.
Agreed.
I am an American. I am not a German-American
Crusades, anyone?
They’ve trained themselves so well....that they have to utter the phrase “African-American” even when they leave the borders of the US. Do “African-French” people exist? No. Do “African-Italian” people exist? No. Do “African-Tonga” people exist? No.
An invented term that only works on US news media sites? Yeah. I’m waiting for some black American guy to marry up with a Norwegian gal, his son gets famous for something, and be noted as a “African-Norwegian-American”.
