Most criminal just ram a stolen vehicle through the front of a gun store at 2:00 am, and steal the stuff.

Husband and wife owners. The wife was punched in the face. Her husband has now died. News said the killers went in shooting.

Unfortunately the owner has died.
The shooting happened about 2:10 p.m. Friday at She's a Pistol, located at 5725 Nieman Rd. when four men tried to rob the store. It is a personal protection and self-defense training, services and supplies company.
Police said the male store owner was shot. Jon Bieker was taken to the hospital in critical condition where he later died. Two would-be robbers suffered critical injuries in an apparent shootout with the owners. Maj. Dan Tennis with the Shawnee Police Department said two other men ran from the store.
While searching for the other two suspects, police got a call from a resident at West 58th Street and Bluejacket Avenue who said that someone was on her back porch, knocking on her door. Police went to the address where they found the other two suspects, one of whom was found with a gunshot injury. That third robbery suspect is expected to be OK.
Bieker's wife, Becky, was not shot, but was punched in the face and body. She was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Jim Allen, a member of the Johnson County Board of Commissioners who operates an insurance agency near the shooting location, spoke with a witness shortly afterward.
“She said she saw three individuals walking in wearing hoodies,” Allen said. “She said she had been suspicious because they had parked on the side of the building. One of them was carrying a duffel bag.”

I might try and BURGLE a gun store at night, while it was closed, to steal guns and ammo. But rob it in the day, while it is open, to steal money? That is some dumb plan.
I was taking karate lessons at an urban dojo when I was a very young man. A thug with a knife walked in and demanded money. Three degrees of stupid. First, there is absolutely no money in a karate dojo, two, there are three or four black belts feeling pretty proprietary about the place and, three, a knife? Really?
The cops came and got a bloodied former thug. Object lesson of great value occurred.
