Nobody from the US govt marched in Paris today… not even Eric Holder
Hot Air ^ | January 11, 2015 | Jazz Shaw

Once the massive unity march in Paris was a definite go, there were more than a few people on social media asking how it was that Barack Obama wasn’t going to be there. I’ll play Devil’s advocate here and just say what we’re all thinking in terms of answering those detractors. Hey… those golf balls ain’t gonna hit themselves, ya know.

Apparently Joe Biden was also busy, but never fear. The President sent Eric Holder. I know he was there because he was doing all of the Sunday shows from Paris. Then cable news ground to a halt for one of the more impressive shots you will ever see; one of the biggest collections of world leaders to be found anywhere, and they were outside in the cold and the rain, locking arms and marching in unity with the people of France as they stood up to Islamic terrorism. Here’s just one of the many media shots which captured the rather historic moment.

(GETTY-PHOTO-AT-LINK)

But wait… isn’t somebody missing from this picture? In what is possibly one of the worst games of Where’s Waldo in history, the fine folks at Weasel Zippers notice that Eric Holder doesn’t seem to be on the scene.

CNN just reported Eric Holder did not attend
#ParisMarch because he was attending high level
meetings. With whom? Everyone was at rally.

11:21 AM - 11 Jan 2015

There’s a photo at the link of Holder with some of the leaders standing on the steps of a building for a photo op, but he was otherwise busy for the actual rally.

Attorney General Eric Holder is in Paris this week to attend a meeting on fighting terrorism, but did not participate in a march with world leaders Sunday to honor the 17 people killed last week in France.

More than 40 world leaders marched arm in arm through Paris to rally for unity and freedom of expression and to honor the victims of the three days of terrorist attacks.

Swinging back to WZ for the full list, here are the world leaders who actually showed up and walked the walk.

Left to right: Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy, British Prime Minister David Cameron, Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt, European Union foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, French President Francois Hollande, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, European Union President Donald Tusk, Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas, Jordan’s Queen Rania, Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and other guests

Oh, man. We didn’t even manage to qualify for … and other guests.

All that marfhing in the street only serves as a waste outlet for emotions and sentiments that would better be used cleaning out the ZUS banlieus. They all march and they chant and they go home to supper and the Moslem killers are oiling their guns and adjusting their vests.

Oh, I agree with you. But it’s the “optics” of the world’s only superpower not even sending any kind of official to be there to commiserate with the victims and the French people that is so stunning. Even Billy Jeff, Jimmy or Warren G. Harding wouldn’t have been that crass and obdurate.

You have to get popular momentum going in order to address the problem through the use of force, and I think this march helped that resolution coalesce. Unless there’s significant popular demand for action, the “world leaders” will do nothing.

IMHO, these marches are for show only. There will be NO policy changes as a result. The policies which encourage Muslim immigration (including giving them welfare on arrival) will continue.

I am convinced this is all part of a larger deal with the Saudi. The Saudis agree to keep the price of oil low, while the West agrees to allow itself to be colonized.

To the citizens of France, I sincerely apologize.

I am truly ashamed of this administration and in no way, do they represent Americans.

This should be no surprise to anyone who observes the actions of the current occupant of the oval office.
He hates Israel.
He refused to help his ambassador in Libya so as to not offend his true friends.
He never condemns attacks against Christians by his true friends.
He always tells us not to judge his best buds when one of them murders a normal person.
He has chosen to not eliminate IS, but to appease us by dropping a few bombs in their area.
He deliberately chose to not attend the marches because he does not condemn the murders of humans by his subhuman friends.

You know, FDR didn’t attend the march after Pearl Harbor, either.

Oh, wait...

This march was an effort in making everyone feel good. On one hand, I have no problem that the US didn’t participate in this march. I would rather the nations announce a war on Islamic radicals. The fact that the liberal world is upset with our liberal President delights me to no end.

Hmm...

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/jan/11/eric-holder-paris-unity-rally-war-against-terrorists

Eric Holder says US ‘at war’ with ‘lone wolf’ terrorists after Paris attacks

...

Asked if he believed the Yemen-based Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) had “ordered, co-ordinated and paid for” the Paris attacks, the group having been linked to one of the attackers on Charlie Hebdo, Holder said: “We don’t have any credible information at least as yet to indicate who was responsible, who sponsored this act.

I saw an article this morning where Hollande urged Netanyahu not to attend saying he would be a distraction. I wonder if he may have urged no American presence for similar reasons. I can imagine leftist Obama agreeing with leftist Hollande on this. So far I haven’t seen any scuttlebutt about the French government feeling snubbed by Obama, no snarky leaked comments. Makes me think it may have been an agreed upon thing.

The real reason: the Secret Service could not possibly protect the President amongst that huge crowd.

Of course, either Bush would have been there.

I want somebody to photoshop Obama in golf clothes and club leading the group in Paris. Or maybe in a golf cart.

Of course they would have, weaklings that they were, and are.

When there's a march on Riyadh and Islamabad, wake me up. Otherwise, just play "Imagine" and "Candle in the Wind", over and over, and leave me out of it.

These marches serve to diffuse the momentum. Were they marches through the ZUS with firebombs being thrown then I would think they might do some good.

Notably, our newly elected House Speaker and Senate Majority Leader also elected to not attend. What a golden opportunity to differentiate yourself from the current Administration.

Had they attended, it would have given the MSM ammo to deflect attention away from Obama's no-show. All the media would be talking about is how disgraceful it was for the Republicans to upstage and embarrass Obama in this manner.

As for Holder, I was mystified as to why he was even participating in the “security” meeting. He’s the retiring Attorney General, for Pete’s sake, . . .

Don't you mean, "retiring" AG? Holder isn't retiring, he will have to get yanked out of office when Obama leaves. That lie was just pre-2014 election talk.
